Is my speaker system decent?

Okay..I'll be first to admit, I don't know CRAP about sound systems...the best amps..the best speakers...I'm not a huge audiophile (I work at a firing range..I don't have the hearing for it. ).

So how is the sound system listed in my sig, I bought it with the car....

I know the receiver was the first MP3/CD player on the market in 2000, and has a HUGE amount of configuration options (I know...I got lost in them)...and I know that the speakers are a good value for the money...but that's it. I really don't care if it's outdated or not, because it sounds pretty clean actually, and the bass can make your heart skip.

What'cha think guys? I'm not in this to win any competitions..just having a clean system..and I was wondering what your opinions on these would be?

Some pics...

Sorry for the small pics...but I guess I wanted to show the tweeter locations...and how the sub box looks, because it's nice and clean.

I REALLY like the sub box, because my last two cars were broken into repeatedly, and this one is stealth all the way...Noone even knew where my bass was coming from, when I first drove up to work.

I want to install my tweeters at your location. Is that panel custom made?

Nopes...It's just the stock plate with an Infitity Tweeter attached to it.

Should work fine....as long as you get the little enclosures for the tweeters.]

Works great..but it does block some of the defroster airflow to the windows...a small detail, no big worry.

It's a custom fiberglass mold....I imagine any reputable stereo shop could make one easily...

I'm probably going to have them redo it, so that the extra space is usable for a small storage compartment.

Well, there's nothing wrong with the quality of your components, if that's what you're asking. Of course, anyone who tells you your audio system sounds good without actually hearing it is a probably a bit suspect. :-)

The kenwood is a great start and the Ininity speakers are a good choice.

I didn't want too much modification, so I mounted the alpine amp under the rear carpet and the Vega sub-Tube under the rear struts.

My Boston Acoustic tweeters are mounted similar to yours....great separation.

I used the Boston Acoustic Rallys for my rear.

Passenger Tweeter

Driver Tweeter

Sub

Sub Amp

Head Unit

Ah..you must have one of the newer Excelon head units, huh?

It's a nice unit isn't it? Mine has so many freaking options, I got lost the first time going through it.

I like your tweeters... Do they block much of the defroster current?

The tweeters don't affect the side window defroster vents. You can really hear the separation with them.

My H/U is 3 years old. My wife and daughter gave me the speaker upgrade for my birthday in Dec '01.

My H/U does have swimming dolphins......really cool.
