my head unit doesnt work,help

my head unit doesnt work,help

so i got the harness and everything and i plugged it all in ran the ground to chassy and it turned on but no music come out. is the single white/red wire for the amp turn on or is it a ground? then it blew my room fuse and my clock went out,bigger fuse fixed that, now my orange wire has no power to it. antone now why?

you almost never have to wire up the orange wires. They're usually for backlighting.

Are you getting power to the deck? Does the display come on and just no sound or is nothing coming on?

Need more info... what car?

I assume that you got the correct wire harness for your car... and you connected the BLACK wire to chassis ground.

When you give a wire colour, also state what harness you are talking about: factory radio plug, aftermarket radio plug, or aftermarket harness/adaptor makes it easier to figure out what you are trying to say. Since there is no white/red wire in any aftermarket wiring I know of I assume that you are talking about the factory plug.

Are you trying to hardwire the deck? What wires are connected? Did you test the wires first?

its a 88 coupe. im using a pioneer given to me for free temporarily till i get a better one(mid to end of sommer)so ill just use the amps already there and i need tunes. my wire harness is made by metra, i dont have the booklet for the pioneer and i tried the light tester to check them and almost all of the speaker wires from cd player harness lit up as a hot wire+, shouldnt there be grounds?so i quit till i got more help. ill just list my wires for both so you can better under stand.
this is the pioneer harness
green/black stripe=?speaker
solid green=?speaker
grey/black stripe=?speaker
solid grey=?speaker
black=ground
orange=+ battery
red=acc
blue= power remote
grey/red stripe=?speaker
black/greystripe=?speaker
green/red stripe=speaker?
black/green stripe=speaker?

this is the metra harness
three prong
blue= power annt.
orange=acc?
red=+12volt powe?r
single prong
yellow=+memory?
blue 4 prong
green/black stripe=left rear-
solid green=+
solid purple=+
purple/black stripe=-
4 prong
white/black stripe=left front-
solid white=+
gey/black stripe=left front-
solid grey=right front +
well this is what i have to work with and im lost i had the cd player working but no sound and it blew the room fuse and my motor for the locks went hay wire and now my orange wire from metra dont have power. shouldnt that be my acc?or is my red acc and yellow constant???? holy **** i dont freakin know, im going to bed!! someone please help!!!

Okay... the yellow wire on the metra harness is + 12 V constant (or memory if you prefer). Red is +12 V switched (or accessory). Orange is + illumination. Unhook the orange wire from the metra harness and do not connect it. Check all youtr fuses again, some will be blown.

what are you suppost to do with that white and red wire?? i have a pioneer DEH 225 unit. and there is not wire for any amp on the after market harness
