my head unit doesnt work,help
so i got the harness and everything and i plugged it all in ran the ground to chassy and it turned on but no music come out. is the single white/red wire for the amp turn on or is it a ground? then it blew my room fuse and my clock went out, bigger fuse fixed that, now my orange wire has no power to it. antone now why?
you almost never have to wire up the orange wires. They're usually for backlighting.
Are you getting power to the deck? Does the display come on and just no sound or is nothing coming on?

Need more info... what car?
I assume that you got the correct wire harness for your car... and you connected the BLACK wire to chassis ground.
When you give a wire colour, also state what harness you are talking about: factory radio plug, aftermarket radio plug, or aftermarket harness/adaptor makes it easier to figure out what you are trying to say. Since there is no white/red wire in any aftermarket wiring I know of I assume that you are talking about the factory plug.
Are you trying to hardwire the deck? What wires are connected? Did you test the wires first?

Okay... the yellow wire on the metra harness is + 12 V constant (or memory if you prefer). Red is +12 V switched (or accessory). Orange is + illumination. Unhook the orange wire from the metra harness and do not connect it. Check all youtr fuses again, some will be blown.
