Aluminum Expanded Mesh.( SAME AS EXPANDED STEEL JUST ALUMINUM) Very expensive in large sheets. Some large wholesale auto part stores sell smaller pieces for front grill openings. You can also look for scrap pieces from metal supply stores. These pieces can be cut to the size you need. Make some phone calls. They can also be anodized or painted to the color of your choosing.

Most autobody shops should have some scrap pieces big enough to use for hood vents ... or contact atihun on the board, he can probably send you the same stuff he has been using for his Mazdaspeed hoods for a couple bucks plus shipping.
