I've always looked at my sideskirts with a mean look and finally gonna ask you guys. Everyone thats seen them in person says they look fine. When I see them in pics, they just don't look right, like they're too big for the car. What do you guys think?

 

honestly, i think they kinda ruin the smoothness of the car. i personally like the oem, apexi, and feed sideskirts. they all look really clean and any of them would look great on your car

 

To be honest.. I don't like them. I think they mess up the flow of the car. I like kits don't get me wrong.. I don't preach stock or nothing... but I think something that is smoother... sweeps out more, doesn't look so blocky at the wheel wells.

 

I don't know what it is!! I've seen these skirts on other FDs and they just don't seem to stand out like mine does. I'm actually thinking of getting the RE skirts. The only problem now is that these stupid Bomex skirts came with holes for screws which I used. So if I did get another set of skirts, I'll have to repaint a pretty big portion of my car (if I don't want a screw sticking out of the car).

 

I think they look fine, i belive it's the r-magic fender which makes the bomex s/s's look bulky. Your car is beautiful and fast; you should be happy with it In the end it's your car.

EDIT: If i owned that car i'd thro on a Feed hood . . . a good match for the wingless look in my opinion.

 

my opinion is there is nothing wrong but it just doesn't complete. You'll need a wing

 

Just have a body shop blend them to the body and get a nice wing. You have a very nice car.

 

I've always disliked the CWEST sides. Your car is very nice, but you are correct in saying that the sides don't look right. I suck at photoshop, but try chopping a set of Apexi or FEED sides on there and see what you get.

Not trying to be mean or anything.. Just a personal thing against those sides.

 

Love the front bumper. Love the front fenders. Love the color. Still undecided about the sideskirts. After reading your post and explaining how you see the sideskirts, I see what you mean. Like it or not, I still think your car is one badass machine.

BTW, didnt you have a Feed rear spoiler on there?

 

Ditto on the dislike of c-west's sideskirts. I still cannot understand why they added that "boxy" back section next to the rear wheels. It just doesnt blend well with the rest of the car. Maybe you should try to remove that section and see if it flows better. That being said, I have always been a fan of Feed's subtle carbon fiber side skirts. And of course the OEM skirts.

It's the R-Magic fenders. They look horrible. Sell them to me before I start painting my car.

 

You realize that these are NOT the C-West side skirts right? Similiar but C-West looks like side cladding running parallel to the deck.

John, I know the skirts are Bomex like you said, but your car overall with that side shot kinda looks like you have the Mazda Speed skirts, minus the front and rear fenders, I think thats why your 7 looks so off balanced with that bulky look. Your front and rear look subtle, while your sides are super aggresive. Is that the Panspeed front? and C-west rear? And those fenders look kinda odd as well with your set up. You know I love your 7 bro, but IMHO your 7 looks like it has too many missed matched parts. But as fast as your 7 is gunna be, I don't think anybody will notice

 

Well, whatever they are.. Add them to my list of dislikes. Great looking car otherwise. Especially under the hood.

 

It's not just you, those are ugly.

 

Here's a pic of another FD with the sides. Doesn't stand out as much on his car. I think it might be that my sides are slightly different colors from the rest of my car. I'm gonna paint it one last time to see it I can get it to match with that car. If it still stands out I'll probably get another set of sides.

I would get the feed cf sides but my front and rear bumpers are too aggressive for that. I need something that goes up at least on the back side. I was thinking RE

I think that the RE sides will be a good addition to your ride.

 

I would blame it on the fenders.
Whatever you do with your skirts, the rear bumper will look too aggressive/squarish(sp?).

I'd put on stock fenders first or another front bumper.

 

your front bumper and because u have no rear spoiler cause the side skirts to stand out.

 

I love the no rear spoiler look. I didn't realize it at first, but it just makes the car look so smooth! I actually have an R1 and I'm going to take it off when I get my FEED body kit.
