I was wondering if anyone cna send me to their site, or somewhere that will have all the options, looking to put them in a R model, so 5.5", and 8" in the back, or is 6x9s easy enough that i shoudl go with them. There will be subs involved so, 3 way 6x9s and 2 way in the fronts mids and highs, woudl wokr out well I think. Thanks.

Well, i have a little to say

Im not saying audiobahn have the highest ranking spl car or anything

BUT

Audiobahn, make the Loudest (single) car woofer in the world,

with an amp power to match the rms this subwoofer is the loudest, the biggest and the baddest, single sub out there on the market
THE audiobahn AWT 34

650oz Double Stacked Strontium Magnets | Power Handling: 5000 watts R.M.S. | Frequency Response: 10Hz – 400Hz | Efficiency: 88.9dB | Bolt Tight Motor Structure | PHAT 2 Inch Foam Surround | Titanium/Aluminum Cone | 5 Inch 4-Layer AVS Voice Coil | Dual 2 Ohm Voice Coils | 1 Ohm or 4 Ohm Operation | Mounting Dimensions: Depth; 12 Inch Diameter; 34 Inch H AWT 34 buy audiobahn

If anyone disagree's and has a link to a louder, bigger badder sub, please leave a reply

Thanks every one

Red face

I dont get people that keep thinking Louder = Better. I've used many many subs in my time as an audio enthusiast and there's not really ONE sub that's just all that ends all. In the 7 I'm using Kicker, in the Discovery I'm using JL, in my mom's Mercedes, we're using Kenwood, and my friend's VW we used PPI. It really depends on what application you want the system for. Loud, fine Audiobahn might be it. But don't say that it's the BEST out there BECAUSE it's loud. My 2 cents. ^_-

Peace,
AJ ^_^

hey dnewman

Your the idiot. its mad_rx2 not rx7

anyhow, i dont think the louder the better, or the bigger the better, i just left all those posts to see if anyone else knew of any sub bigger etc

I hate that sub myself, id never spend $7000 on it

and, im a bit of an audiophile myself and, i go for quality , not just loudness,

In my home I have a sunfire 5 channel amp and a sunfire signature subwoofer, this is only a 12' sub, but its good enough for me, and my rears and fronts are martin logan electrostatic flat panel speakers, U see, i go for quailty, not size or just bulk www.sunfire.com

Hey Mad RX2.45,

Do you think you have it in you not to post the same useless response in every post on the forum. Please post just one time. The reason I called you an idiot is because you cut and paste the same irrelevant reply in 6 or 7 threads.

BTW, it seems like you have a pretty decent HT, why are you looking at audiobahn for your car?

Dynaudio is nice, easy listening and percise. I have 2-10" Kove baby Armageddons. I have Martin Logan CLS's-they rock-driven by a Rowland amp, now look that up, that's quality

Why waste such a good amp by using martin logans with them?

Rowland Schmowland.... I LOVE my 5 Linn Klimax mono-blocks driven by my Lexicon MC-12, and my Linn CD-12 CD player. Now do I want to listen to it through my Martin-Logan Statements... or my Wilson X-1 Grand SLAMMs...

Maybe I'll just hook up the old Cary single ended triodes instead...

It's fun to dream isn't it?

That is why I put the wink at the end of my comment, it was just a joke. I have heard the logans and they sound pretty good for music purposes but I didn't like them in the HT setup I heard them in.

They are excellent speakers, but I think there are much better available.

Damn, i might be old skewl, but i have one Original Polk Db 12" fully powered with an Alpine amp and that thing is about as clean and tight as ive heard. Match that with some MB Quart componants and ive gone quite deaf in my 91 Conv. :-)

The stock speakers in the non-Bose FDs are shallow 6.5" in front and 6x8" in the rear.

Personally, I like Krell. For car I like dynaudio and MBQuart.

As far as the sunfire sub w/ ML's - I'd say bad match. the sunfire is muddy. - I like the Velodyne HGS-12 - f'er hits crisp and hard - THUD! (I don't have it b/c my rx7 and GS400 take all my cash - but I'm not buying any more subs until the HGS. FWIW, I have Monitor Audio ASW210 Sub (2' magnesium 10's) and Soliliquoy towers (Bob Carver's speaker company).

I'm also not a believer that a 3" excursion is the way to have sharp accurate bass. I'd rather have a 15" with 1.5" and a 10 with 3" as the time it takes for the 15" to travel move air is quicker (Just mho)

i think people who want to battle about which brand is better should goto an audio forum.

there is alot of brands that engineer better products then there are brands that just put out copied crap.

and as far as audiobahn being the loudest sub !
the gentlemen that built that car could tell you that the sub is practically irrellivant(to a certain degree)

the 34" sub is only a marketing gimmick and that is why it is so expensive($7000 is a little high)

the newest bad boy on the block is the kicker L7 18
10000 watts quad voice coil and its weight is over 100lbs
this one could be prommissing but well have to see

as far as all you others out there that need guidance on car audio ---- good luck.
everyones idea of what sounds better is a personal opinion and you need to choose based on you taste.
