If you planned on painting the hood anyway, is there a big advantage (ie, other than looks) in getting the carbon fiber over the fiberglass?

I would be real careful I saw a scoot style hood up close. Fit was poor and it was quite wavy. Didn' t catch who made it but it would taken 5 hours plus to get it flat and not sure you could do much with gaps on the edges. I would stay with fiberglass if you painting it other wise you wasting money on a fad that will be covered up.

Carbon fiber is stronger and usually lighter. The weight difference between a stock hood and a mazdaspeed hood outa fiberglass or carbon fiber is minor.

atihun makes a great hood. I have the hood on my car and it fits great. Last summer when the hood was delivered cracked, it was easy to get a replacement. Great guy to do business with, I bought the (his) carbon fiber door sills and will install them soon.

I got my carbon fiber hood from Atihun as well. Great guys. It was even personally delivered to my house. I also bought their carbon fiber door sills. All their products are great, great quality. They were worth every single penny.

Please explain why your are bad-mouthing the Scoot hood when this thread is about the MS hood?

I have seen the Atihun stuff in person and it fits great. No replica (save Chucks's) can match the quality and fitment you can expect from either one of these guys.
