Maaco paint jobs

It was $800, no clearcoat (mixed with paint). Get the paint job done with clearcoat unless you wan to deal with pealing and chipping though. I had mine resprayed recently, my original paintjob cost $600 and started to chip off from the hood and sunroof, probably quarter sized chips. $800 later I've done a 13 hour trip (VA-FL) and its probably been 2 months and it hasn't chipped at all, not even the front bumper area.

Its not the paint you have to worry about at maaco, its the prep! If you do it yourself and ensure its all good you have nothing to worry about. The prep they do there is horrible though. I did the front half of this car myself and even after some one hitting the front 1/4 panel the paint is still in tact. The rear though...another story. Prep and tape yourself!

A friend of mine got a car painted at Maaco and they did a very good job. He went to the back of the shop and talked with the guy who was doing the prep work and masking and bought him and his co-workers Pizza and Beer and tipped them so they would do a good job and they did. no over spray on the exhaust, suspension or underside of the car the paint looks good they just didn't color sand the car which is the key to a good paint job.

yea i would remove all molding, remove your spoiler EVERYTHING you can remove, then mask everything you don't want painted, including your engine bay, underside, they did mine and didn't bother removing anything then someone put weight on the spoiler and the seam moved causing paint to chip... also my oil cooler got massive over spray and under my hood as well, under the hood was perfect before they got to it, afterward it had a green tint due to the yellow paint
it has since been fixed for the most part, but i wouldn't bother if you want a quality job, you can do a macco with a couple cans of spray paint and some paitence...
