lots of paint questions - please help
alright, before i go and start searching for my FD, i have to sell my Civic Si... and before i sell my Si, i want to get all the scratches, scrapes, chips, etc... filled in and get it looking all pretty well my car is Milano Red, a stock honda color, and i was wondering if anyone had experience with paint shops and how much it would cost for them to go around and fill in scratches, chips, etc... most scratches could almost be buffed out, but i have a foot long key mark thats pretty deep on my hood and a my whole front bumper might need to be repainted because of the chips... i know it varies from shop to shop, but my questions really are, how much would it cost? is it possible for them to just go around and fill in scratches and keep the paint look natural? should i just repaint the whole car? and if i get the car repainted, will that increase or maybe decrease the value? cause i know that original paint is important to some buyers... any info would be appreciated, thanks a ton guys...

you're gonna pay out the *** to get all that fixed dude. I work a t a paint shop, and i couldnt give ya a real good idea of a price, but between you and me, you'd be better off "finding your car keyed" when you wake up one morning, and having insurance get you a new paint job( but i wouldnt suggest "having" that happen, would I?)

That would suck if they keyed your car so that the "key line" extended from one part of the car (ie: hood) to another part of the car (ie: door), because then insurance would have to pay for it...we wouldnt want that now would we?

haha, alright guys... im only im gonna be 18 next week, and i really dont need my insurance rates to go up cause my car "somehow got keyed in the school parking lot" haha... im not a big fan of insurance fraud here... but seriously, how could i pull that off? hahaha... (i doubt my dad would go for it, haha... unless of course, it was done by some "unkown person")

Damn, it did start!
If you do have / decide to paint the Si I would suggest you compare the cost of the job as opposed to the sale price of the car. unless macco has a 99 dollar deal I would just buff out what you can and let it go. Unless it is in really poor shape. the get a discount paint job and don't sell it to anyone you know
