Light your guages any color you want!!!

After being dissapointed with the lighting on my NR white guage faces and talking to Dclin about modding the lighting. I made a discovery. You can change the color to any thing you want by scraping the difusion material off the back and using model airplain "Monocoat" in it's place. I followed Daniels lead and advice on my current setup. Next I'm going to attempt to duplicate Volkswagon lighting (blue&red). If I have good results would any one want something different then they have now? Like I said I have to experiment somemore first but I don't see why this wont work. Let me know your thoughts.

I will have to see this, like I said thats the setup I have been looking for as well. Can you still make them glow very bright like the VW lights? or is kinda dim?

it would appear that anything that was not too thick and slightly opaque as a color would work.

gordon, wouldn't the permanent magic marker wear away kinda like if you color the actual light bulb it'll eventually dull out, and lose most of the color?

Hmm magic marker .I never thought of that. My guess is yes just about any fairly transparent material would work.I'll be usingthe monocoat. It's cheap to buy and can be taped on for easy removal. I'll try this in the next week. I'll post results.
