I can't wait to see it.. Do you think you could post some video clips of opening and closing??

Now I see why you ask me to wait..

I trust FDNewbie.... I met him 3-4 months ago and he's a man with the knowledge.. I can't wait to see some pics!

Maybe I'll come check it out next time I'm in DC.

FD newbie,

Since your posting this everywhere I guess I have to follow you. If you guys would like to see the same stuff, go over this thread here. I answered all of the things he asserted, and corected alot of the stuff that was way off.

Since there's some new stuff here, I'll address them. But you REALLY want to go to that thread before you come to any conclusions. Pretty much evertything is refuted.

First, you've clearly never used a VLS, nor have you ever seen one I'm guessing because the things you are saying are so far off. I understand your excited and want to stand up for your new vertical doors as anyone would. I'm going to guess that the tone of these assertions is because you are working with verticaldoors as their test car, so you obviously have a hookup with them. You says things like "theoretically" because you dont know at all. Thats not good business, nor does it help your credibility.

I stick with things I know.

I have to ask, since you've got no warranty posted on the site, and you can only open it 6 inches... how do you get out if the shock should fail? Now, ours, you flip a lever, and your opening OEM style... no problem. If we did happen to have a problem on our shock, rated at 500,000 compressions and a 10 year guarantee on the seals, we replace it OVERNIGHTED to the customer. I have no idea how any squeezes through 6 inches... you told me you were 6 ft, 220 pounds... that sounds pretty rough.

Believe its simple to switch from OEM to veritical. For someone looking for people to believe him and trust his testimony, it is very suspect that you woud say that with NO knowledge of it. Its clear on the DVD we have how you switch it. Perhaps someone who has oredered our DVD can independantly back this up. Maybe I should go outside and do a quick video for you... it would be about 10 seconds to have the door open in OEM, switched, and up in lambo. Unfortunately we cant compare times, because you dont have the feature. We beleive that custom work should never come at the sacrifice of functionality. The VLS ensures both.

I know youve only had your car for a short time, but I can tell you when I go to a restaurant, I just pull up, get out, flip the lever, and its in OEM, or as we call it, valet mode. now the door opens normally. Seconds.

if this post seems short and to the point (not my normal cordial self), its because I just finished responding to the other thread he posted the exact same thing on... so I just thought I'd hit the smaller points. Again, that thread is here:https://www.rx7club.com//showthread....08#post2638908

I suggest if this interests you, then you should check it out as every assetion or guess has been addressed there if it wasn't here... I went into much greater detail.

i have the lambo door kit on my n90 vert, i got my kit from decah, i had it installed by my body guy , he spent 20 hours each door , reason being is the verts have more impact metal on the inside fenders then the coupes, if u have a regular rx7 hard top look inside to see if its a flat surface. plus he had to refab the inside structure of the fenders to bring it back up to is sthrenght. heres my web on cardomain http://members.cardomain.com/rx7fromcali copy and paste that if u have any questions ask me i know first had about the lambo kit

Hey man

Congrats on the doors. Just thought I'd give ya a head's up tho...the decah hinges don't have grease fittings, so they're gonna require greasing every now and then. Also, MAKE SURE all the screws and bolts are very tight all the time...and I mean MAKE SURE...cuz they're prone to coming loose, and then you'll have all sorts of other probs to deal w/. Lastly, be aware that the shocks used on the decah kit aren't meant for daily use...so keep that in mind. If you use the doors daily (or quite often), expect the shocks to wear out, and you'll have to replace them.

I don't have the decah doors myself (I have the VerticalDoors.com kit), but my friend had the decah doors on his celica, and they gave him ALL SORTS of issues (see above) only months after the install...

But good luck to ya. I think you're the first to have lambo doors on an FC btw

Arrow thanks for the reply

i posted this thread to help people out and they tore me a new ***, when i got the kit i was told that because my car dors weighed more they sent me the heavey duty struts for it, so we shall see how it holds up so far no probs , my body guy had to cut the hinges to make them fit properly. the guy did a good job, in my mind . having the doors go up for me give me more room in my case for getting outta the car, im a big guy 62.230lbs , so the extra room for getting up and out was nice. made a big difference. anyways thanks again

By that, do you mean you think I was ragging on you? Cuz if so, you totally misunderstood me. I said congrats cuz I meant it. BUT, that would be messed up if I knew about the potential problems and didn't warn you/give you a head's up. If you don't care to know, that's cool, but at least everyone else will keep it in mind. In your own words, "I posted this thread to help people out"...

Again, I'm not ragging on you, but the point remains that the decah kit is made for a civic, and modified to fit other applications...thus they may need additional work, vs. other kits that are direct bolt-ons. BUT, I think the decah kit is the only one for the FC so far, so you gotta weigh your options, that's all.

I hope this helped some (if not you, then others), and I hope you enjoy your new doors. They really drop some jaws hehe

The Autolock kit is motorized...it's $2K+, and my major concern w/ that would be, if your battery dies, you have a short in the wiring, any electrical prob, etc. or simply if the motor fails, and you can't open the doors at ALL... Oh and last time I checked, I believe it's a universal kit, so those skills of yours will be very handy...(more like required)

I was also thinkin of doin a lambo door on the driver side and a sucide door on the passenger side hmm...
To each his own, but I seriously don't think that's a good idea...

Good I dunno if you're aware, but while that long lambo door thread (old) was going on a while back, a couple of FC guys were really REALLY interested in getting them for their FCs, but like I said, no one had made a kit for them yet. So I wouldn't be surprised if ppl start harrasin the hell outta ya to get more info haha

Some people were down right nasty with me... I sell everything and this kit is one that i just put on my coupe and i did it myself in less than 3 hours.. and all the holes line up to a Tee.

Check out this vert that belongs to a guy on this forum.. he had these drawn on a CAD program and then cleanedge waterjet cut the mounting holes. I saw the process and I was amazed...they go up 80 degrees and look better than those other 90 degree kits like the Diablo. check out the pics and let me know if you know anyone that wants them.. $650.00

^^^You received a message about a new post back in february (10 months ago) and decided to post now

Also, based on what I've read on this forum, Zandervan (the pics of the black fc vert) is a scamming deadbeat scumbag. Stay away from that guy!
