Unhappy Kicker Vs Infinity (speakers)

looking for opionion here guys ok im looking at doing either of these set ups but both of them with the same subwoofer i have a T2, that uses 6 1/2 in the back and 4 inches in the dash i can't decide which would sound better.

Infinity Kappa 42.7i under dash
Size: 4
Sensitivity: 93 dB
Frequency Response: 75-25,000 Hz
Recommended RMS Power: 50W
Peak Power Handling: 150W

Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 150W x 1 @ 14.4V
Speaker Level Inputs: Yes
Preamp Outputs: Yes
Built-In Crossovers: HP/LP
Bass Boost: 0 - 18 dB

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Component system.

Rec. Sealed Box Dims: 0.33 - 0.75 cu.ft.
Rec. Ported Box Dims: 0.66 - 1.00 cu.ft.
Free Air Usage: not recommended
Sensitivity: 84.9 dB
Frequency Response: 28-100 Hz
Recommended RMS Power: 450W
Peak Power Handling: 900W

powered by a 450 watt amp this part doesnt matter as much to me.

But i was wondering if it would it be a good idea to use a infinity reference 5761a and have it power both sets of speakers, and not use 2 of the 4 channels that is putting out 56 watts and have those going to teh 4 inches up front, and the 2 107 channels going to the kappa perfects? its ratings are the following

Amplifier Type: Multi-Channel
RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 56W x 4 + 107W x 2
THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: <1 %
Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 148W x 2 + 287W x 1

Built-In Crossovers: HP/LP
Bass Boost: 0 - 12 dB
Frequency Response: 10-57,000 Hz
Signal to Noise Ratio: 82 dB
Fuse Rating: 2 x 30 amps

And the other set up i can choose between is this....

Kicker KS Series KS40 for front
Size: 4
Sensitivity: 88 dB
Frequency Response: 60-20,000 Hz
Recommended RMS Power: 30W

Frequency Response: 20-20,000 Hz
Signal to Noise Ratio: >95 dB

Kicker SS Series SS65.2 component system. for the back
Size: 6 1/2
Sensitivity: 87 dB
Frequency Response: 40-22,000 Hz
Recommended RMS Power: 100W
Peak Power Handling: 200W
Impedance: 4 ohms

Powered by a Kicker KX350.2 2 channel

2-Channel Amp Specifications

Amplifier Type: 2-channel
RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 110W x 2 @ 14.4 V
THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: <1 %
Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 350W x 1 @ 14.4V
Speaker Level Inputs: Yes

Your laundry list makes no sense to me, but from what I can figure out, run:

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Component system
+
Kicker Solo-Baric S8L74 8" sub

Forget the 4" dash speakers. They will be irrelevant w/ the comps up front. Ditto the rear tower speakers. You will barely hear them w/ the sub in the hatch.

Look for a 4-channel amp w/ at least 100W per channel. Run 2 channels to the comps, bridge the other 2 channels to the sub out back.

Something like this: 125Wx2 + 250x1, etc.

So you are saying i should run the infinity kapper perfect 6.1's in the rear towers in the back and the kicker sub and thats it? and leave the 4 inch speakers under the dash alone? i have a 87 T2 so i don't have speakers in the doors please get back to me as soon as possible.

Run the Kappa comps in the FRONT, the sub in the hatch, power it all up w/ a 4-channel amp.

You sure you can't run 6.5" speakers? It says so in the Crutchfield fitment guide.

TJ,
Make sure to listen to thos infinity speakers before you buy them. I bought some without listening to them first and I was really disappointed. I even took them out of my car even though I'd only had them in for three months.

infinity have no mid range, but great price and quality. i dont really like kicker, the components ive seen before are kinda low quality, but im not sure about this model here. basically kicker seems to be trying to cash in on their name brand by releasing components.

Hmmm now i still don't know what to get.. i was also curious if i should just get coaxial 4" speakers or a 4" component set by MTX it seems to be their highest quality set for 4". ive also heard great things about MB quartz but im not sure if they are worth the asking price pleaseeeeeee need help deciding . I think i may go with the kappa perfect 6.1 components for the back but i dont know need more opinions.

No 4" comp. set by anyone has midrange. Like subwoofers, you get less output the smaller the speaker. "pianoprodigy" knows all about that because I always bust his ***** for buying 5.25" speakers when he could have gotten 6.5s.

tjeter: You know, I did some research into speaker sizes for the FC and I'm reading conflicting information. Some say 4", some 5.25", and Crutchfield says, 6.5". I'm thinking Crutchfield says this if you have the stock enclosure/mount which holds a 6.5" speaker. Only real way to find out is to take your door panels off and measure the speakers in there, and also see how much room you have to work with for an upgrade.

And BTW, DON'T mount a component set in the rear. Absolute waste of money. Run a comp. set up front, and coaxials in the back. But since you'll have a sub in the hatch, forego the rear speakers, and go w/ what I recommended above once you get the front speaker sizes figured out.

I just recently re-installed my system in my car. I am running Focal Utopia 6.5 mid-bass in the doors 4" mid-ranges by the arm rest on the doors and tweeters up by the plastic triagle by the mirrors. I threw in a pair of old MB Quart coax speakers in the rear towers. All those speakers are beeing fed by a Mcintosh MC-431 (100x4) amp. IF you tune it properly you can run rear speakers without affecting your soundstage. Someone above said that you wouldn't be able to hear the rear speakers. That's not true. You will hear them, in fact, they will sound louder than the front speakers. That's why I said you have you to tune it properly. I had to lower the gains in the rear speakers on the amp to bring the soundstage back to the front. Most people will not bother putting speakers back there though. All I am saying is, if you want to.. you can but balance them out properly with the fronts. I am running two 10" Focal subs in a sealed box btw. I don't have a T2, but I would imagine that the opening for the 6.5" door speakers must be there.. all you probably need to do is make the opening on the door panel and fab some kind of speaker grill/mesh. I agree the 4" speakers on the dash are useless, but only because of the location NOT because they don't reproduce mid-range frequencies effectively. Don't go by what anyway thinks about a brand, just go to a store and listen to both speakers. Buy the ones you feel sound better.
