Kenwood Stereo Randomly shuts off
Kenwood Stereo Randomly shuts off
I have had the stereo in the car for about 10 months and never had a problem with it. I checked all the connections and even redid some including the ground and constant 12v but it still randomly loses power both while the car is on and while it is off. I can tell when it happens while the car is off because the time and date all reset. Also when it happens while driving it wont come back on until I restart the car. I have the stereo grounded to the metal inside the dash that surrounds the stereo. It was a semi cheap unit (like 130 bucks or something) so I wouldn't be totally surprised if it just started going bad. I know it's not the power since I swapped it from the stock stereo power wire to one straight from the battery. Also I'm sure it's not the fuses (car or stereo) or the switched 12v since it always resets the clock.
