just got my C-West headlight kit. What lights to replace the ones they come with

I'm trying to find a pair of lights to replace the round lights that the Cwest kit came with. So far the best ones I found that will fit with little modifaction are the Hella 90mm H9 prjector lights which are legal for street use.

These can be upgraded by Chuck at Rotary Extreme but I'm unsure of the output or color of lighting.

Then there are BMW HID projector lamps. They are also 90mm but are way longer and will require me to get alittle creative. These obviously are street legal. They cost right around $200 a pair for just the housing as shown and will give off the popular BMW HID light you always see in your rear view mirror. I can choose what output I want and will most likely be 8000K with a purple appearance for under $400

There are also these lights that come out of aftermarket projector lights. I will have to somehow take the lights out of the case. They are also 90mm but have angle eyes rings. I'm not sure yet if I like that, it might be to much honda for me. They are also said to be DOT pproved, street legal. They except H7 bulbs. HID kits also can be found for under $400 and have an appearance of purple. Good thing about these lights if I get them is that if they don't fit they way I want them to, I can use them on my 92 HB civic

Right now I am set on the hella 90mm projectors from Rotary Extreme. They are quite short and I think I can fit them with little cutting. The only thing that will keep me from buying these is that they accept H9 bulbs which are very rare. I can't even find any upgraded purplish bulbs not to mention a plug and play HID kit. So if anyone knows any other projector lights that will work with little modifaction, let me know. BTW, what do you guys think of the angle eyes thing?

Don't trust those ricey aftermarket lights. They suck and are only for looks. I bought a set of projectors for my old Eclipse and the lighting was worse than stock. They used H3 bulbs though...
The Hella 90mm lights seem to work well according to the pics of the Rotary Extreme kit.

You really can't see in the picture but I have about 6" deep to work with. I will have to cut and modify but nothing you can see when I'm done. I'm still not sure what lights I'm going to go with yet. Anyone have ideas?

and here you can kind of see the 90mm lights I'm going to take out. You can see alittle better in this pic how much room I have for a deep light kit. You can also see my brother's new CF hood he got from RX72JOCK. Dean, thanks again for the lunch

sounds good...

hey keep us updated okay....i wanna see if the 90mm lights would fit in the C-WEST light conversion. I am planning to get the C-WEST light conversion too but then, the only dislike is that you cannot do HID conversion...so if it works, i'll do the same thing too....

can you give me a clue how you removed your pop up lights, so far i removed the two bolts on top and the two speed clips on top and one bolt on the side in the engine bay. what other bolts are there and where?
