Just finished custom fiberglass encloser for my FD

Just like the title says just finished my subwoofer box and just want to show it off. The only issue i have is thats it a little heavy at like 70 lbs with the subs. I dont like much of the loudness of the subs so I just did it to look cool. Also all my friends hate the sony explodes but I dont give a ****. I dont care much about the sound even though they do sound good. I dont have any preconstruction pics because its on the other camera, but these are what i have.

You wasted that money to look cool? Wow I really need a money tree like some people seem to have.

I like to keep myself busy by these little projects. I love to work on my car so the money was just to get this job done. It wasn't that much money for the materials and the subs and amp I got a discounted price. I was actually sanding the encloser down for a month trying to get it ready for paint. I just ended up covering it with some type of swade meterial.

Looks good, good craftmanship, although very poor choice of equipment. Not to insult, just not a fan of sony's line, except for the xes stuff that retailed over $6000 a couples years back

Nice enclosure, you have any build pics? I want to install a system in my FD, but I don't want to use up all the space.

FallenCho: People who are not into the same hobbies as you will think you spending money fixing up your car is a waste of money. I think spoolin 1012 did a great job. Not a whole lot of money spend seeing he did the work himself. Spoolin 1012, I always admire a person that can work with his hands. I think it's awsome to think of something and bring it to life.

I have been ignoring this post because I thought it was over. But thanks to everyone for the comments. I have to say that I have heard that sony isn't the best brand but I think if you have nothing to compare it too, they sound awsome. Thanks chinaman for your comment. I love to make things myself becuase i feel like why pay someone to do something I can do. As for the build time took me a good 3 month due to not having time working/school. I spent about a month and a half sanding it for paint. Such as bondo, sand, bondo, sand, then I figure save time by just covering it. It worked out. And the price i belive it was like 30 bucks of wood and about 150 bucks in fiberglass, resine, and bondo. It could have been cheaper but me and my dad was having a compatition to see who's was better. He has way less more time then I have so he is still working on his. It isn't going to work becuase is going to fill the rear trunck and im not sure If i want that. The wait of subs have sure slowed me down a bit, its about 70 lbs but i feel a diffrence. Thanks again for the comments. I lost the connection to my other camera so I cant load any building pics but when I do I'll repost this thread. Thanks.
