Will they fit?? mounting depth = 2.4"

Thanks for the help. I'd like to use stock speaker etc. I have the non-bose stereo and am willing to cut the backing if that will help.

TIA!

My guess after installing some fronts recently is that you could install them, but you might have to use a small spacer to keep the magnet from hitting the window when it is down. I measured from the mounting surface to the window, and it was very close to 2.5" where the magnet would be. With the window bouncing around a bit, it might hit a 2.4" deep speaker. But you probably have a bit of room in front, so you could make a spacer to keep it from hitting the window.

I can't guarantee that they will fit, of course, but I think it would work and that it is worth a try.

Thanks - I've been using your info about your install as a guide. Most of the japaneese speakers are a bit bright for me and not quite as smooth as I like, but on the flip side they aren't as deep...

I did see someone say they installed BA pro's which have to be pretty deep (american speaker + pro series). I'll give it a shot.

I'm somewhat concerned that putting a spacer up front would bring the cone even closer to the front grill. -- I've already heard reports of the speaker hitting the grill, when pushed a bit.

thanks...
