Intrest in Fiberglass FC sub box??

I have been making plans to build a fiberglass sub box for my fc. It would fit in place of the spare tire, firing towards the front. It would mout with the screw from the spare tire, that holds it in. I was going to built the one for my self for a single 10. Would anyone be interested in one if I followed through? I want to see if it would be worth my time. Also would you guys prefer a 10 or 12 inch??? Thanks for any input.

have it fire to the rear or striaght up, dont have it fire foward, it always turns out to sound like crap when you do, idk why but it does.

what kind of sub is back there now firing forward because as long as it isn't a JL you are correct on what you said to "skunks" but if it is a JL, they are known for sounding awesome the further away you are from it when it points away from you, like toward the back of the car...good luck with the tire well...i am currently building a fiberglass set-up too (in the whole rear end or my FC 89 GTUS) so maybe we can compare pics sometime, mine will be with a 15" JL W6.

actually, currently, what i have facing forward is a jl 10 inch powerwedge. I have tried other set ups and this one was by far my favorite, inmeans of the sound.

if you set it up so the sub box is facing backwards, i feel that it rolls the bass over itself kind of like a fouth-order bandpass box and gets a little boomy for my likeing, jls are the way to go though!

Actually, I have better sound form other subs and JL is one of my least favorite. Sound Stream sound good, and Rockfords sound good. but the best so far was one 10 DVC Orion XTR. I have a 175x4 Lanzar OptiDrive amp. two channels are pushing a set of Quarts and the other tow are briged running parallel to the sub.

Another one that sounds fantastic, and is lighter, are two 6 1/2 inch Bazookas. the unpowered DVC, run a 100 X 2 stereo, and parallel to the voice coils. You can put them almost any where and they sound great. Right now I have them in the wheel well both pushed to the passenger side and firing that way. You can also lay them down in the back butted up firing in the corners.
I have a few 7s by the way, and I used to run my own stereo shop. I'm still an installer on the side.

I might be interested...

I have a 10" sub just waiting for a rear mounted, front firing enclosure.

If you can make an enclosure that fits without any mods to the car, other then taking out the spare, one that is solid and doesn't resonate, all for a good price let me know
