Question installing a '96-'98 Rear wing.......what do I use to plug existing R1 holes??

Hey guys, just wondering if any of you have run into this problem? The bolt pattern on my new wing is different and I will be left with about 4 holes that need to be plugged. I do not intend on paying a body shop $1k to do this......so of course I don't expect this fix to be perfect. As long as it prevents rust and is not extremely noticeable I'll be happy. Any suggestions ?? Thank you.

Did a body shop really quote you $1000 to weld & paint the holes?

Actually they would have to paint the whole hatch. I did a search on this a while back and someone was quoted that price. I never actually brought it in to a shop yet bec. its down for an engine install.

If it's under the wing (either the supports or just the *shadow* of the wing flap, does it really have to match perfectly? If it was me (and it will be because I've got a wing sitting in the garage I'd at least check a few shops before resorting to the electical tape, rubber plugs, and bondo that people suggested in your other thread

No....it really doesn't have to match perfect. Two small holes on each side underneath the outer Flaps. My main concern is rust. What wing do you have ??

I've got an OEM 99 spec that will replace the OEM R1/R2. But it will need to change from Innocent Blue Mica to White, and the holes in the hatch have to be fixed. Don't know when I'll get around to it though...
