Help....boost gauge install

bought a boost gauge and I'm wondering how you hooked up to the 5mm pipe on the manifold. Guy before me jammed 1/8 od nylon tube into the pipe and spliced a 1/8 id silicon hose over the tube and nylon hose....doesn't seem too reliable. I'm thinking 5mm id swedge style fitting on one side with a 1/8 in crip style fitting on the other to hook my 1/8 od nylon tube too. What did you guys use? thanks

There are vacuum adaptors available at the auto parts store. Basically just a rubber tube with two different sized holes at each end. Normally everyone has the Vacu-Tite brand; their in little purple blister packs.

I used a brass fitting (available at almost any hardware store) that has a compression type fitting for the nylon hose on one side and a graduated stab type on the other. I forced the vacuum hose as far onto the stab type end as i could and then nylon zip tied it just below the end of the hose. of course on the other side I just slipped the tightening nut and compression ring onto the nylon hose, set the compression ring about 1/16" from the end of the hose, put her in place and screwed down the tightening nut. Never had leak one
