Ignition Ground Power Wiring for a computer.

Ignition Ground Power Wiring for a computer.
I have a computer setup for my 3rd gen that I'm trying to install.
There are three lines coming off the power supply for Power, Ground and Ignition.
I figured I would just splcie the power into the power for the head unit and the ground whereever.
Anyone have any suggestions on where I can hook up to the ignition line? The power supply for the comptuer is supposed to be able to use the line to know if the car is truned on or off and then automatically kill the power to the unit if its not so the battery doesnt' get killed.

What I did is find the sunroof cuircuit in the fuse box, since I have an R1 I don't have a sunroof, but even if I did it wouldn't operate unless the key was in the ignition and turned on, which is exactly what you want, Auto Zone and others sell an "Add a Circuit" which has a fuse holder, for which I would Put a 10 Amp'er in there, and then feed it to the 12v switches part of your Power Supply, the majority of the power drain is going to come from your "Constant" Power or your 12 v Always on circuit, which should have nothing higher than 15 Amps, if you're drawing more than 15 Amps for your setup you're doing something wrong... or have a short...

if you goto the12volt . com and search they tell you what color wires off the ignition, or you can use a wire tester, there are 2 ignition wires that you can use to tap into the wires will be on the round white plug (IIRC) on the left side of the column pretty easy to access by removing the column cover, here are the colors...
Constant 12V+ Black/Green Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition Black/White Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition 2 Black/Yellow
for ground just scrape some paint somewhere and use a self tapping screw to make a good connection
