I want to paint my front bumper, what paint and where?

Hey guys, I recently got a pretty good spray gun for my compressor, and my front bumper is realy crying for a paint job, is all scratched and cracked up.

Where can I buy some good bumper paint (not in spray cans) .?

Thanks .

Make sure its flexible paint or you will end up with spiderweb looking cracks. I'm not sure if all new paint these days is plyable.

Hehe, spiderweb, that's what I have right now, all over the bumper, looks like sh*t. It's only a year I painted my whole car and my front bumper is horrible, they used some cheap *** paint.
I'm definitely gona get the flexible paint and some good flexi primer...

Thanks for your help, I appreciate that...

I'll second that.

What I did when I was looking for the right color was go to a couple body shops flip throught there books of sample colors. Looked at the examples they had of popular colors, etc... Until I found the color I was looking for.

Are you just looking to repaint the front bumper or the whole car? If you're just trying to color match you can get the paint code out of the door jam (IIRC). However, depending on how bad the rest of your paint is, a full repaint may be necessary.

/\ Don't mean to be rude or anything, read up /\

I had the whole car painted last year but my front bumper is pretty cracked-up and flaking off in lots of areas, so since I got me a nice paint gun I gonna remove the front bumper, sand it down and throw some good flexi. primer and paint, so that bad boy won't crack/flake no more.

Thanks for the input...

Well you never stated the condition of the rest of the car. That's why I asked. And I assumed that the same "crappy" paint used on the bumper was used on the rest of the car. Anyways good luck with the painting.

Well the front bumper is realy cracking up, the rest of the car is in good condition, no crack since is not plastic and flexible as the bumpers.

I think it has to do alot with it being plastic too, besides that it needs the paint to be flexible I guess you also got to put some good plastic primer first....

Thanks for your input...

Same paint, just have to use an addative for the bumper skins, primer also has to be compatible with the urethane bumpers. My $.02
