I accidently waxed before I polished, is that ok?

It took me exactly 7 hours to wax my whole entire car by hand yesterday, and today I will spend another 7 hours polishing it. But i just realized that your supposed wax after you polish!!! is it ok still that I have waxed before the polish? either or I have to do it for I already made the mistake

Are you using Zaino? What polish did you use?

there is nothing wrong with it...except that once u polish it u should wax it again. Just wait til u wash it again, unless there are some things you need to polish out.

I dunno how u wax in 15-30 minutes, it takes me well over an hour.

Same here. I think he's using Eagle's "Wax as you dry". You just spray on the wet surface and dry it when you use that. That's why it's faster.

Either the spray stuff or the wax you have to rub on, it still doesn't take me more than a half hour.

With "rub on" wax it usually takes me about an hour, maybe an hour and a half tops. I used Meguir's(sp?).

Now a couple times a year i'll use a bottle of scratch out and spend a couple hours rubbing the car down real good to elimate spider scatches and other minor blemishes, and use fine grit rubbing compound to get rid of deeper scratches. Then when i'm done i'll wax it real good.

you stripped all the wax off when you put on the polish. You'll have to wax again.

**** that I am not waxing again!!!!! that **** takes for ever!!!! I will see what the polish over the wax will do, if its good wax it should stay on the car no matter what gets on top of it. Plus the Polish I Have has wax compunds in it aswell.

You're defeating the purposes of these products if you use that approach. The main purpose of the polish is to restore the oils to your paint which have leeched out due to sunlight, the environment, etc, etc. The polish works to give the paint a deeper, richer color. The wax is there to put a barrier between the paint and the environment. And of course, it gives it a shine in the process.
Putting polish over wax isn't likely to help. You're likely to remove a good portion of the protective barrier you just spent several hours applying.
If it were me, I'd leave things as they are. Give the wax some time to wear off, then next time polish first and then wax. Some products say they are a polish and a wax in one, but obviously such products are making compromises somewhere along the line.

Yeah, I'll have to agree with everyone on this, just wait until the next go around to polish the car. Waiting for another 3 months or whatever to polish isn't going to hurt anything, but polishing out all the wax and then driving around without any wax will (relatively speaking). Polish will remove wax. Polish is basically like sanding down your car, and it also works in oil into the paint (this is good), but think of polish like a very fine abrasive. If it doesn't remove the wax on top how is it going to do anything?

I agree with everyone here, wait to polish it next time. Also, how the hell did it take you 7 hours to wax it?

Usually, when I do the full treatment: wash, clean paint, polish, and wax: it takes me 5-6 hours for whole procedure. And I'm slow.

Is it okay if I use shampoo after the conditioner, or will the shampoo remove the conditioner too?

To expand on that, if you use shampoo + conditioner do you rinse and repeat or only apply it to the scalp once?

What polish and car wash do you guys reccommend? Right now I am using the Zymol car wash and the Zymol carbon wax on my black FD.

Like I said I use the Meguir's liquid stuff that comes in a bottle, and I really like it. I think alot of people use Zaino though too, or so it seems.

SupraKilla -

If you like how your car looks right now, don't worry about it. Leave the wax you have on there now and don't polish it (cause that will strip the wax back off).

Next time though, polish, then wax.
