how to treat a new paint job?

i dont know if this belongs here. but im getting my car repainted and i was wondering what i should do when i get it back to take care of it correctly for the first month or so. i heard that you are not supposed to clean it for awhile, does that mean u shouldnt drive it too much so that it doesnt get dirty? should i leave it out in the sun or should i keep it in the garage for awhile? i know these questions sound kind of stupid, but i have never got a paint job and i dont want to do it again, thanks guys. - steve

Dont wash it for a month then when you do. Use Meguires wash and do a full wax on it also.
Make sure that you wash it out of direct sunlight so that the soap suds dont dry on the car and leave waterspots in the clearcoat.
Thats all you need to do. Drive it all you want.

Oh and if you dont have one yet, get an "Absorber" they are very gentle and work great.

I was told to wash it with a mild soap only and do NOT wax for 90 days or else it will not allow the paint to breath and it can create bubbles and other defects.

This is what I was told.. Just make sure you dont use any type of polishers (found in wax) or cleaners. Car soap should be okay. Pick up some really good wax to show off that new paint job!

I just asked my body guy who does show cars for a living and he said DO NOT wax for atleast 30 days. You can wash the car but spray it down really well then with wash with a really sudsy soap and make sure anything you dry it with is new each time. My car should be done tomorrow!!!

You can wash the car with soap and water. but after 30 days you can wax it with a wax that preferably do not contain carnauba since it seals the paint and it wont let it breathe.
