How much does painting a 7 cost

How much does a paint job cost on a Vert? I am not talking about a 500 dollar paint job at MAACO or even a top of the line paint job. I am just asking about a good or decent paint job that will last. How much did you guys pay?

$200 for the last pro job I got. I do it myself now...last real paint job I did cost me $45. The last job I did (flat black) cost $7.76 including lots of colordy chalk to decorate.

Depends on your mechanical ability. It is not hard at all to "gut" your car, but if you havevt worked on cars or pulled your engine I would be alot more careful and really take my time.

Gutting your engine bay is easy. The tricky part is remembering where everything went...

Doing mine I pulled my engine and hard hoses, removed the big things that I could easily remember where they went (AFM, coils, rad., etc., etc.) and just painted the rest flat black.

I painted mine in my garage. I did it the hard way: stripped to the bare metal, acid wipe, etching 'vinyl wash' primer, Tec base surfacer sealer, and 7 coats of acrylic enamel topcoat with no clearcoat. Paint cost: roughly $500. And then there was the month of 25 hours of work per week doing all the sanding . . this was after I had all my bodywork finished.

Yep, it was a great primer (pun intended) for the workload I have in college now as an engineering student.

This probably won't help you - but my brother's(stb mine) convertible's paint job was ~$1200-$2000. A guy who worked for Ferrari ATL painted it for him.

4k is about right, that is for a stock color not including the engine bay.

My Miata as about $1500. The paint job is beautiful, too. But the RX is a quite larger car. I'll probably have to get mine painted when I get it, so I'm interested in this, too.

Here's the Miata, BTW:

about 1000-2000 at most, think about what the fc is worth.
I would never pay 4k for a paint job. The paint job can only be so good. I was told 2k for my fd.

When you look at a 2k paint job vs a 4k paint job side by side, you can tell the difference.
