just a word of advise.

plz, use your car cover at your private (closed) garage. ive heard that a car thief (mostly car audio thief) loves a covered car since noone knows whats going on inside of a covered car at night.

actually ive lost my 9 grand sound system when i parked my car at an open garage (w/ a car cover).

That's so true rx7 lover. I was thinking about that covered cars in a place that you can't see it would be attractive for a thief. Damn, $9,000 a lot to lose just like that.

I used to have that one. It was real nice and soft, but as soon as I discovered it wasn't water proof, it got replaced.

I dont have a cover, but i do have a question for the guys that have them. What type of material are the "ropes" that go under the car to lock it up? My car gets pretty hot and by having anything other than a stainless steel braided wire running under my car (right next to my exhaust piping) i think would melt? Any experiences with this?

I HAVE THE MAZDA OEM

ITS GREAT FOR KEEPING DUST AND POLLEN OUT BUT ITSN'T WATER PROOF. LEAVES THIS WEIRD RESIDUE UNDER THE CAR AFTER IT RAINS AND I TAKE THE COVER OFF...PRETTY ANNOYING ACTUALLY.

MY FRIENDS HAVE THE CALIFORNIA CAR COVERS AND THEY SAY IT IS REALL GOOD. RAIN OR SHINE, WORKS WONDERS...ITS ABOUT $250..GOOD INVESTMENT FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T GARAGE.

I have a Blue one from Pep Boys, that I picked up for $ 60 or so, and I have an alarm, so the whole burglary thing seems to be a danger but even the best burglar has to let it scream for 10 Sec while he disables the alarm, and I'm 90% of the time withing earshout. And 100% of the time while it's got its cover on.

I live in L.A. Where just the smog and sut in the Air seems to leave a nasty film on all cars, but the cover helps a lot, and doesn't seem to have affected my paint, more dangerous is speed to your paint, the more I drive on the freeway, the more chips I discover on my hood / bumper.

i have a car cover, its very very very good and i bought it for like 70 bucks i think.. its waterproof too, i already tested that..

i like to cover my car everyday cause i dont like the sun hitting the paint, i have the original and i think its in damn good condition (90%)..only minor minor chips on the hood, everything else is perfect, like it was repainted..

i bought mine off ebay but this is the sellers site

http://www.automack.net/babysoft.html

i highly recommend

www.carcoverworld.com. I got the Noah one, it's very nice ($150). I've used it for two years now and it still holds up perfectly. If your gonna park outside, use a cover. you'll be glad you did.

I should probably get a good cover considering I live at an apt. and I just put all that money into the exterior. My question, what do us guys with the 99spec spoilers do?

the cover i have has enough room to even tuck under the 99 spec spoiler, it has elastic bands at each end of the cover to hold it down, plus its waterproof.. believe me, just because this cover is only 70 bucks, doesnt mean its not good, i had this cover for 4 and a half months and i use EVERYDAY, i take it off everyday and put it back on the same day when i get home, its very durable, perfect size, waterproof, nice and soft on the inside so if you're scared of scratches or whatever and its at a reasonable price..

I never used one before I bought my house because I have noticed that at some apartments, people will mess with a car under a cover... besides, on, off, on, off would be a PITA - especially if it is wet.

what about those tent/makeshit garage things? sure it would'nt protect quite as well as a garage or car cover, but it would be easier to use than a cover and less concealing for thieves.

Ditto- but I used to use it when I had covered parking at my old apt. Used to wipe it with a Cali duster and cover it every night. Black paint shows dirt like a *****!
