I have been quoted 3-4 weeks by every shop I went to.
I have been quoted 5-7 K to keep the same color, 6-10K to change the color.
What color you getting? Did you get any quotes?

haven't gone to any place to get quote yet. any color besides montego blue. i like the blue, but the green in the sun is nasty. ideally maybe that spirit r grey or some type of laguna seca blue. but this just depends on how long the engine keeps going....

I went to M2.. www.m2automotive.com. They quoted around 7,500K for a full paint job change of color and about 6K for same color. You get a lifetime warranty with it too. They painted my miata before and I can tell you they do a great job. But that was a little pricy for me.
So then I went to the shop next to Ricks Rotary Performance and they quoted me 5,000 (I think its diablo auto or something like that). They do a great job from what I hear. Then I went to a place in castro valley I think its called Dans Autobody, the quoted 5K too. All the 5K quotes were to keep the same color. All of them told me that you add about 1500 more for a full paint job. (not including the engine bay). I was told that the only time it is acceptable to change the color on your car and leave the engine bay the original color is when the car was black to begin with. They say any other color than black and it looks strange.
I wanted yellow for a long time, and now I realize I dont, lol. I'm either gonna do innocent blue mica or keep it black. I REALLY like black, so I will probably leave it the same color.
what ever you do, don't take it to those "Maaco" or other similar places. They will get your car in and out in a few days and it will LOOK like it.

RE: Maaco.
I disagree. They had my car for a week, and when it came back it was an utterly fantastic paint job. That being said, I've heard horror stories about some Maacos, so go by and get a quote, then ask to see some finished cars awaiting pickup. Ask them what they did to each, and draw your own conclusion.

It's just like Mazda dealerships, not all of them are the same. They all have different employees/managers, it's only the name of the franchise that links them together.
