I have the 93 windshield with the black square used to hide the button mounting point. I suppose 94+95 windshields used a different adhesive and no longer needed the black square? The square also can't be removed with the razor blade.

I know this thread is old, but it's fantastic to have some instructions on this. I've been wanting to do this for awhile now.
I won't have an excuse now.

I'll order the same mirror I used on my Miata PRHT. Comes with everything I need other than the button.
