How to get extra leg room in your 3rd Gen
Hi all.
This thread is a how to for gaining a couple extra inches on the standard seat runners in your Fd.
First you have to remove your seat. This is easy, there are 5 14mm headed bolts. Just whip these out and maneuver the seat through the door opening.
Next you have to remove to seat runners. They are seperate but linked by a wire that operates the catch.
To gain the extra movement your have to remove the std stops. This is basically a rivet holding the two parts of the runner togeather. First clean up and weld the two halfs togeather then remove the rivet. I ground off the bottom then pushed it through.
Doing this will gain you about an inch. If you want more then use a Die grinder and remove the bump thats pressed into the runner. Make sure its all gone and nice and flat else the roller will get caught on it. Its a bit difficult to see in the pic.
Then do the same to the other side, reassemble and your done.
This is the difference between a modded rail and un-modded.
Good luck.
