How do you guys feel about Kicker subs and amps?

Today just messing around on www.ubid.com i came across some Kicker subs(2 8" 300w ones to be exact) i placed a bid and i won them at $21 a piece.

Do these things deliver good sound and did i get a good deal? thanks for any input.

Ok since no one answered this , I 'll take it

Our store personally doesnt sale Kicker, but I get to do a lot of Kicker stuff. The store down the street sales it, but they cant install for **** LOL Or they are way too EXPENSIVE on labor...

I used to not like Kicker... The old Kicker speakers with the gold plain jane writing that said 'KICKER' sucked ***.. But these new ones they got out now are pretty sweet speakers. So if you looking for a little bit of bass and the price is that low, I d say get em. And if it dont work good for ya, doubt you'll have a problem selling them for what you gave for em...

I use Extant amplifiers and Eclipse subwoofer, they made excellent quality but with a cost. I think they are the best amps and sub combonation.

Talking

To me it's a combination of a lot of things. You can have an awesome speaker but asl ong as you have crap *** amp or deck or cd or whatever, you're not going to get the full potential of the speaker. I found this combination to be working well for my 7. *88GXL FYI*

Sony CDX-CA860X
Rockford Fosqgate 360 AMP
Alpine MRV-T407 AMP
Kicker 10inch S10L7
Monster Cable all around
MBQuart 6.5 on rear shock towers
MBQuart 4.25 on fronts

I've had experience on my friend's Prelude, countless Civics, my mother's Benz, my Land Rover, and now the 7. A lot of my buddies work at instal shops like Magnolia HiFi, and Definitive Audio in Bellevue. They've all given me many tips and help on installation and Brian *Definitive* told me one thing that will always stick in my head. "No matter how awesome one component might be your system is only going to sound as good as your worst piece in the car." So it's better to get everything in mediocre level than to spend all your money on one mucho awesome speaker. ^_-

Peace,
AJ ^_^

PS: I love my kicker sub. It's not too loud, but if need be I can crank it up and 'bump' with the rest.

Im thinking he either sells Autobahn, has stock in it, or his GF likes the color scheme of them

Kicker is awsome they have been more consistant over the years than maybe any other car stereo manufacturer. I prefer the square solo's myself but the (now ex )GF bought my sub and head unit.

I've got 2 MTX Thunder 6000's with an MTV Thunder 8000 amp. It's MTX for me. Kicker's new subs look cool, but I think they sound like ****, but for $21 who cares.

Yeah we sell MTX, and its one of the biggest sellers we have. The older MTX speakers had some flaws and left a lot to be desired in a speaker. But their new line is nice. Even the cheap 4000 series are nice.

Did some of the sqaure solo's the other day, Id have to agree the sound quality isnt very good, but they freaking hammer, they louder than hell. But i think thats what they were built for was SPL.

The thing i noticed in the number of JL speakers I did, (and trust me I did a SHITLOAD). The speaker are very forgiving, you can put it in about anything and it had very acceptable results. Hell even when playing around, I did a few full range just to see and they roll off pretty smooth, couldnt beleive it.

We are checking into acquiring a Kicker line of speakers right now, so we will see.

I still like the Kicker line but I have to agree the solos could sound better. The CompVR's have better sound quality over the Solo's.

Also if your looking to aquire the line..... everyone has heard of Kicker.
