how do i take out my headunit from my FD dash?



im trying to take the top one out.

how do i take it out exactly? i was told i had some "tools" to use but apparently i dont have any. is there anything around the house i can use instead?

this is for an Alpine if it matters.

Just take it to a stereo store & they should be willing to do it for >$5. You would have to remove the black trimming around the unit, and stick the 2 prongs that should have came with your stereo.... some shops like to keep things like that unless you ask specifically

That's the best way to take it out w/o damaging anything as far as I know....

I just cut a coat hangar and ended up with two u shaped pieces. stuck the 4 ends into the 4 holes behind the plastic trim and pulled out.

i got it done, you can refer to my post in the lounge =p.

thanks for the help everyone.

and i may use that to take out the stock cd player bleung, since it needs the DIN tools rather then screwdrivers like my alpine headunit.
