how to clean door panels?
Need some input...
My last FD was red with tan interior and I used some Fantastic and a soft nail brush to clean all the decades of crap that had built up on the tan door panels. It worked incredibly well.
My current FD is red with black interior and the door panels are pretty frickin dirty. When I did a test run with the same trick - Fantastic scrubbed in with the nail brush - it didn't work as well. The black seems to scratch a bit when scrubbed.
What do you guys recommend as a good cleaner/cleaning method to get the door panels looking clean again?
Thanks.

Glad someone brought this up. So the Mr. Clean magic erasers work well on tan, but what about on the black door panels? I've tried just soap and water, and a foaming interior cleaner from Germany, and in both cases, it either doesn't remove the smudge on the panel, or it does but leaves a whitish residue... Frustrating!

i can't picture magic erasers working on ground in dirt.
old friend of mine used to detail cars and he used some kind of cleaner mixed with water and a soft brush to get the ground in dirt loose from the textures of door panels and other interior plastics. i just don't know what he used...
i thought there were some detailers in this forum...

Mr. Clean magic erasers!!!
this is the cleaning product of the heavens!
unbelievable. easy to clean the tan interior. the black marks on the scuff areas come off without effort! while rubbing it the interior with the sponge, occasionally water drops roll down, and they are BLACK! u need at least 2 bars per door, and it works on the headliner, and all the rear part bins. and bring a small bucket of water and a few paper towels to wipe up the dirty areas after using the bar.
im sure it works on the black interior but i cant tell if black interiors are dirty unless i touch them. i still use armor all on the iterior black pieces of my car. maybe ill try the bar next time!

No cleaner I have ever used has worked better than the oxyclean powder. One scoop in 16ozs of water will get the job done with no foul odors at all. I used it on my Camry with tan leather and it got all of the old dirty residue of the leather seats, steering wheel, and door panels. All I did was dip a bristle brush in the solution and scrub then wipe clean. It damn near looks brand new again.

try mr.cleans magic eraser. make sure its not too damp (dripping water when cleaning is toowet) and use very little pressure and be patient. it may dry up the plastic a bit socondition and protect it after your done cleaning. i use 303 aerospace protectant.
i
perfer using woolite original diluted in 10 parts water and 1 part woolite, its not harsh on the plasitc or vinyl. you can also use it to clean leather seats and cloth seats. nothing is better in cleaning interiors than diluted woolite!
