I think that once youre in a front end accident that will shear off your head. I dont think you can get a patent on it since lots of people have done it already. Its nothing special, ive seen it on everything from vipers to FDs.

Yea really. Im about to bust your business. Unbolt the hood hinges, get some long bolts, put washers or spacers to lift up the hinges. Rebolt. There is your elevated hood.

again refer to my post in the other thread. Its not only dangerous, you won't get a patent, looks broken, and simply doesn't work well enough to justify the other ****.

Again I suggest you talk to a lawyer about this. You could get into a lawsuit situation IF anyone gets hurt OR if anyone has a patent or patent pending on this.

Well i have had friends who crashed their Fc's drifting.
The mounts held up well and Yes i heard about that happening..Almost getting your head cut off..
Well Sorry to bust your bubble also but you can't make it that way with washers or whatever way youre saying.
the hinge bolts 45 degrees to the hood so i had to bend some sheet metal..Those of you with fc's will find out when you try to do it with washers you wont be able to..
those of you who say it will work with washers,You will find out otherwise..Go Check how the hood mounts to the FC..Also a patent, isn't What the hood Lift looks like,
It's the design of the product, many things are made diffrently but almost do the same job.this is where the patent will come in..I heard Aerodyne makes theirs out of Aluminum..Not sure on weight But aluminum can crack..mine Weigh (105 Grams)with bolts.
I gave a set of these hood lifts to my friend(Donald,Bob's Doughnuts)And he crashed into a pole on the skid pad about 45-55 and the hood mounts did not break..he actually got another hood and still using these mounts..So there is the answer of Durability, and crash saftey..I built these mounts with that in mind and used strong steel(stainless).
As for air getting in the hood vent.I don't think Japanese Drifters(where i got the idea to make these)would do this to their cars if it didnt work..It's something like a cowl hood on american cars.are you saying those dont work??Well It works For everyones car who got it and everyone who has this mount on their FC is happy =)
Till patented or not We will see 0_o..

Oh and a Design costs nothing but can make $$$ =)

I got this installed on my 98 Civic several months ago. I've seen about a 20 degree temp drop when driving on the highway. I haven't had any problems. I think it's a good mod for those willing to sacrifice some looks for performance. But I'm happy with the looks of it.

Your cocky attitude is funny....

Best of luck on the patent, you're going to have to sell a lot to recoup your costs on that, as a patent typically costs approximatly 1000-1500 dollars to get (but you knew that).

Second, I assume both of these accidents were directly head on, and with a solid object (i.e. a wall, or other vehicle)? Oh, they weren't... sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, you came up with this particular design, HOWEVER, you DO NOT know the crash worthiness of them, so don't pretend to- If a severe enough accident occurs, it may not be the bracket that fails, but the hinges or another system, without the firewall to buckle the hood, it may lead to very, unfortunate circumstances. You keep choosing to ignore this fact, or talk around it.... I believe most of the people here are only trying to raise awareness with the "ricer" crowd (your main audience for these), and to make sure you write up a thorough CYA (cover your ***) agreement that must be signed prior to purchase-

edit: Oh, and that stupid capitalizing random letters thing was never cool to begin with- damn you're 1337

Aerodyne does make these but theirs are made out of aluminum.which is a weaker metal and can bend easier and crack in case of accident..I have had people compare mine against theirs and so far Mine are said to be Better(stainless steel construction)..Thats Just my opinion and a Few other peoples who have got these from me..When Compared to eachother..
oh yes mine weigh in at (105 Grams)

i think that this is a good product and that its good to have someone offering it as long as they fit and do what they said they will do. people who want it can now buy it (as they would have either have bought it from Aerodyne or would have made their own) at a cheaper price or have another source for them just incase Aerodyne closes down.

BTW: there is a lot of stuff people do to their cars to make them unsafe like pulling out the interior or bumper supports for different body kits. yes it makes the car a bit more unsafe but people still do it and you cant do anything about it. Actually, its none of your business what they do to their cars as its their cars and they can do what they want as they please.

as far as looks go, i say do what ever floats your boat. different strokes for different folks

Just because you say it's designed only for racing, doesnt mean that you arent liable for injury anymore. If someone takes their car to the track, crashes, and gets their head lopped off by the hood, still your fault.

THANK YOU SKUNK

My fault??How would it be my fault if I have warned buyers before they buy it ..Racing Only , Means you could die or get damaged from it..Just like race tracks, they make you sign a waiver.understand before racing or using racing products there is a chance you could get hurt or die ..once Posted on Product It will relieve me of any legal responsibility from their use.Let's just say there will be a warning that says,
Any use of this Product or other (my Company Name) products for racing We are not liable for bodily injury or death while using racing products on or off the streets.
Drive Safe..

What ya think

I actually don't like it all that much, i mean maybe it helps airflow but Id rather have a well-designed hood scoop anyday that I dont have to worry about killing me/someone else with.

This Design can't be compared to a hood SCOOP...
A scoop is designed to "scoop" the air into the engine bay..!!My Vents (releases hot air from under the hood)
A well Designed Scoop is totally diffrent.Than a well designed Hood Vent!!

I have some light on this.

Several companies here use to make it. It was mostly popular (NOT FOR HEAT). The heat removal was a justification for doing it. If you said "BECAUSE" it wouldnt really fly right? Well this was popular back in the day 3 years ago or so, so yes your a little late. You wont make anything on it.

I cant even see the picture, but I can guess what it is.

I for crashing I dont personally think it would make a bit of difference, I mean its like 2 inches, if you get hit now you hood is just as likely to come off (not likely).

EDIT* I saw the picture..

YOUR TRYING TO SELL IT FOR $280? Did I miss something?

Sounds more like a Shadow! =op

A patent Pending costs $280 and the design is what will be patented, not what it does.as for the price i was selling them before pretty fair for $30 ,but i took them off the market to trademark my name and start something=)Don't hate because someone is trying to compete with others..Ill just be another guy who has fun making things and it's a hobby so if i could make anything i would be happy.=)But yea my hood is raised only 1.5 inches in the rear..Almost got it!! =)I sold a few of them and gave a faw to my friends and everyone who got them are happy with them..that's all i can say.
How could you say they don't work..Again, it's something like a cowl hood, it reduces underhood temps. and releases heat and pressure..Why not try them..As for the costs of starting a buisness and trademarking my name(still being decided)I Got the costs Covered so please don't worry..Thank you people!
Im not trying to Become Rich off of these I just made it for my car, and my friends thought it would be a good idea to sell them or design more for other cars..So i may as well compete with others out there ..How could u say it's not for heat!!So It dosen't matter as long as i have FUN making them and see them on peoples cars =)

Here is a pic of my car with the hood lifted in the rear ..
Why would i say it works if it dosen't? Also why would the people who bought them already and the few friends i have with fc's say they do work!!and it's already been crash tested to a pole at buttonwillow skidpad..lol ,without bumper supports, empty bupmer, like the breakaway style, crupmled his hood and didnt even touch the windsheild at about 45mph head on!!Also they say and I say It helps cool underhood heat..Mabey the people who don't believe in these just don't have them on your car..
it's ok if you don't like how they look,IT does the JOB!Oh and the people who have it say it does keep your engine cooler..Rest my case Look up a few one guy i made these for on his honda civic noticed a 20 degree drop in underhood temps!!
