HID C-West headlights in the making

Well, here's the start of my HID converted Cwest lights. The xenon lights came from an Audi TT. They fit OK, but I wanted them to be wider to fill up the big *** hole from the Catz lighting. I might have to make some sort of bezel in the near future, but for now I just want some xenon lighting

This is where I was thinking of mounting the ballast and ignitor. It'll probably be the easiest place to mount plus it'll stay nice and cool from my front vents.

Here you can see the big *** hole I was refering to

Not the best looking, but it'll work for now. Too many projects, not enough time

you should have use HELLA 90mm instead. They fit a lot better than those. I have also considered fitting those projectors into my c-west but i found out that the HELLA 90mm fitted hella better. Take a look at mines.

do you have more pics of yours? I was actually going to order a pair of the Hella 90mm H7 projectors. Are yours H7 or H9.

I know the Hella 90mm will fit better but some people have said they won't give as good lighting as OEM xenon.

When converting the D2S bulbs into the Hella H7's they won't give as good lighting as with the H1 bulbs, but they will be brighter and have a nicer color. But as far as projection goes, the H7 bulbs have a more solid beam.

I've searched for some time now and I think these will give the best lighting.

I'd like to take a look at more pics of yours if possible

mines are H9 with D2s bulbs. I believe this is the same components as what rotary extreme uses on their HIDs. Overall, lighting is very good.

I would love to see those when they're done. And yeah, i've also heard, that no aftermarket HID kit can match the quality of an OEM setup. Just make sure to make those bezels to fill in the HUGE gaps.

I just purchased my hella 90mm yesterday. I am doing the same setup. But I have not been able to find a high beam fog light that is a projector that has the same deminsions as the catz xlo. LT1-7, What high beam fog light is that?

they are just the ones that came with the kit. Don't worry about high beams being projectors. If anything, you want them not to be projectors. The purpose of high beams is to give more lighting all around, not just strait ahead but also side to side

Nice. A friend built a set for me using the same exact projectors, only it was for the factory headlights.

Since you don't have to deal with the fluted lenses, you should have a sharper cutoff than this:

what are u going to do about the gap that is still there, sence the lights still won't fit perfect? or are you just going to leave it?

With mine I am thinking about using some abs plastic around the gap and painting it black or whatever.

Using a face plate around the projector would add some nice finishing touches.

That's what we did for my Accord (same Audi TT/BMW 3-series projector).

Damn, LT1-7, the finished lights look awesome. The carbon headlights, carbon hood and red body blend well together. Good work.

Oh, did you make a bezel to cover the space between the housing and projectors?

How is your light aim, is it straight or all over the place?

Yeah, hows the beam pattern? And do the lights get discolored by the color of the c-west headlight cover?

Uhmmm. . . John doesn't have the C-West kit. . . . .
Its a R-Magic front, Feed front fenders, Bomex sides and C-West rear(actually in that pic I am not sure it is that rear or a Bomex he switched awhile ago).

Uhmmm... I am talking about the lights dumbass. From what I understand, he doesnt own the front bumper, fenders, or the wheels anymore. He wont own the rear bumper either in the near future.

John, where did you get the lights?

I actually got the lights from Jimlab a few years back. Took out the piece of crap fog lights and installed xenon projectors.

Justus, Travis is right I don't own the front, rear, and fenders anymore. Travis owns the front and rear bumpers now. Damn I miss the front bumper already

John, if I ever sell the RX7 or decide to go a different route with the exterior, I will see if you want to buy it back.

SyderJL..sorry about the dumbass comment.
