Hid

The hid kit I had on my BMW was causing a lot of interference with some other gadgetry...plus it made one more complicated bit of maintenance for the new owner...so I kept the kit.

What's the easiest way to setup HID headlighting on an FC? What I'm really wanting to do is adapt some Hella duals into the stock pop-ups, but I don't know how well that'll work ebcause the housings I have are a bit too wide.

I like suggestions and examples, though. I'm wanting to avoid a bi-xenon setup and I would like to step away from the stock 7X9 housings...but I want to keep pop ups.

Well here is what I did for my FD:

You might get some ideas from this. I say keep the popups but make them open to a lower, more modern height and then retrofit in a Hella HID low beam and a halogen high. This would give you great lighting.

And get rid of the HID kit you have unless they are D2R bulbs. The retrofit HID stuff is junk and won't work well anyway.

What's the easiest way to setup purple hid headlights headlighting on an FC? What I'm really wanting to do is adapt some Hella duals into the stock pop-ups, but I don't know how well that'll work ebcause the housings I have are a bit too wide.

Yes, you will need the D2R bulbs, other than that you're doomed.
