Help w/wiring stereo system in my 91 FC

I have a 1991 N/A FC with Package A (speakers in the doors, factory amps, and eq) and im planning on putting in an aftermarketd cd/mp3 player and replacing ALL the stock speakers but i dont want to wire that **** up to the factory amps cause well....they suck so i need to know how to go about re-wiring the system to go straight from the aftermarket player to play through my speakers.

I've been searching through threads all day today and all night last night and still have found nothing to answer my question in any detail. I appreciate any help y'all can give me.

damn i have the same car down to the "T" and went thru the same thing you did. the only thing i could suggest is find a local car audio shop to wire it up for you. ****** factory amps suck.

good luck

if you're running your speakers off your aftermarket head unit, just run speakerwire from your head unit to the speakers.

dont bother with the stock amp. pretend its not even there. theyre should be a front left/right, rear left/right speaker wire coming out your aftermarket head unit, so thatll provide with you 4 speakers.

the thing that is gonna suck, is you have to run your own wires to all your speakers... not hard at all, ill post pics of my system next week... i just put in a cd player, 2 subs, an amp, and 2 6x9s... the amp powers the 2 subs, and the head unit powers the 6x9s (in the back) and the stock front speakers... im soon gettin replacements for the front stock speakers, considering they are still stock.

all you have to do is unplug the amp and plug the connectors together. you can then toss the amp.
