okay... Idont know jack **** about upgrading audio anything. And this isnt for my FD, its for my 95 240sx... but how in the world does a novice (like me) figure out reciever selection, amps, sub, speakers, what goes with what, what fits my requirements, what preamps and **** like that are for factory recievers... damn, Im lost.

well i design and build systems for a living first off I would say is decide what you want out of the system. then you need to decided on a budget. if you would like i can help you decide on what kind of setup. i just need to know a few basics as far as what kind of music you generally listen to. just so you know the radio is classified as a double din so either a double din will fit perfectly or a single din radio can fit with the use of a single din pocket. also you have 6.5" with a good amount of depth all through out the car. and if you are looking for good sound you may want to invest in a set of component speakers for the front. and as far as interior speakers concentrate most of you effort on the front if you want to spend 600 dollars on the interior speakers spend 400 on the front and 200 on the rear if you want to some suggestsion pm and i will help find something that suits your needs

I would check out like crutchfield.com to find sizes for the car. Most of it comes down to how much you're willing to spend. The best I have found for the money is boston acustic coaxes. A good head unit to go with I would say alpine or pionner. Subs I like JLs and a good amp to go with would be a JL or phenox gold ones. Hope this helps you out some.

If you want good sound I wouldnt suggest being cheap on the rears either, you want a proper soundstage, putting crap in the back and good components up front isnt going to do anything good for your sound, and I have been building, selling, installing audio for over 10 years now, and run my own shop for 5 of those

I didnt say cheap out i said consentrate most of you effort on the front notice the ratio i used 400 dollars gets you a decent set of comp. speakers and 200 would get you rear that are perfectly fine considering it should be just for rear fill anyways so no where in that did i say install crap in the rear
