Yes, you can replace just the rings. It is one piece that covers the entire panel. Call Ray at Malloy and he will know exactly what you are talking about. He charged me 65 for one.

I think he means 65 bucks for the clear plexi that covers the gauges that has the rings on it.

I don't believe the rings come separately. They are actually glued to the plexi glass. However, you can break the glue and have the rings re-chromed. It's better just to buy the whole unit for the $65 from Malloy Mazda.

I can't remember who it was, but I do remember someone taking those off and painting them either black or black chrome, one of the two. I think they had some pics of the process, so it may not be too hard to accomplish if you took them off and then repainted them with a chrome color. Just throw some clear on top of it and it should look new again.

$65.00 is a steal for that. Im shocked that someone owns a FD and thinks thats alot for a DEALER part. I would have guessed the Standard $200.

Mine are peeling too, I will call Ray and order one before they are discontinued.

I actually painted mine to match the rim on most aftermarket gauges. Autometer, DEFI, and any others with the aluminum look. It matches bery nicely. I know most people would probably frown it, but it all flows very well now. I guess I could take a pic...

Yes.

I advise you ask maxcooper about that before you attack it. It's a bit of work.. Theres a thread around here somewhere.. He replaced them with digital gauges..

I still admire how nice you made your gauges in your center console. While I would done it above the radio, it looks OEM. very nice.

I got so tired of always adjusting the din plate that I have...I purchased a center speaker style gauge pod to install next week.

Thanks! I didn't really think about it when I started the project.. But I plan on doing another one with the gauges up top.

I have a question regarding the clear plexiglass on the front of the gauges. It seems that theres some kind of film behind the clear plexiglass. At first I thought that the front was dirty.Tried cleaning them with windex and had no effect. Then I realized the film was on the backside of the gauges. Can these be removed. It may sound like a dumb question but Ive never messed with the gauges so I simply dont know.

From what model years? Here in the US, the dealers have looked in all the parts fische and have never found separate part #'s for just the bevels, only the entire unit.
