Guages: black face or white face?

Okay so looking for guages for my 85 GS. It's gold with a red interior.

I found the guage set I want. But I can't decide between black face with white lettering,
Or white face with black lettering. I know neither one will match since the factory stuff is red on black.

So what do you guys think? Any experience on what is easier to read? And at night?
I can probably get better guages in white face (doing a turbo II swap, so I need a boost guage and can't find one I like in black face)

Only guages I really have experience reading under speed are old school green lines (if you know what those are I give you a high five)

black would be harder to see at night i think, but white would stand out more. what guages were you looking at? no illumination? glowshift guages are nice and pretty resonable, they also light up and the lettering can change to your preference.

thats a neat site! Those guages are definitely a clean look, but yeah those white ones grab attention. black for a more low-key look.

Check out their bomber series. Those would be awesome in an old 32 ford or any old school hot rod. Or hell even an FD haha.
