GTC kit? is it getting old?

there seems to be alot of copies lately at good prices. originally i liked the GTC kit, but it seems to be getting old. i dont know anyone with it in my area, but pics of it seem to be everywhere now. is this starting to be common like the veilside kit or do you think this is still new and fresh for and FD3S? i was thinking about getting it because of the great price instead of sinking in around 1200 for a JP import kit.

ok why is it getting old? is it because you see them everyday or everytime you see an FD on the road it has one? How many FD's that you see on the road have one? **** for that matter how often do you run into another FD?

I live in South Cali where FD's are much more common (than most places) and I have only seen ONE guy with the GTC kit. All others are from the internet...

I think it's only getting old if you're some kind of candy *** that thinks driving an FD is some kind of fashion show, and it means you have last-years' Manolo Blannicks on.... and i'd say that the original/copy comments are even worse. It's not a Gucci bag or a devise to show off a brand label, it's a piece of fiberglass that changes the look/function of your car. Who gives a crap who made it?

If anyone really saves, or worse, FRAMES their Mazdaspeed certificate of authenticity for a fiberglass body kit piece, i'm sorry, but you need to slip off those tight panties and let your ***** hang down.

No one said anything about who made it versus how it looks. (thats whole nother topic.) My comment, at least was refering to the fact that once there is a knockoff of ANY kit it is instantly "old" and not worth purchasing, real or fake.

Look at how many "C-West" bodied FDs there are. "GP Sports" bodied FCs... etc.

Why would a knock off body kit piece be any newer, fresher, older, or anything else than an original? They look exactly the same in most cases. You can't tell who's hand layed up the 'glass by looking at it.

I get the concept of doing something a little different or unique with your car... but not being obsessed over how many have been sold or by whom. Being "different" is overated... I prefer to pick out things I like or do what actually looks good on the car and works, rather than worrying about wether or not its still fashionable or "played out".

I agree. Any aftermarket kit'd fd usually has either CWest, MS, or Feed (see pics @ SevenStock).

I felt undercut after buying an RE rear diffuser from JT-imports for $600 (& waiting 5+ months), just to see Chuck doing GB's for his replica @$350 or so for the fiberglass version

Why so much hating on the knockoffs? Just because some of you have the extra money to to pay for the original version doesn't mean everyone else does. Check this one out.

Not bad for a knockoff!

I know what your talking about. Chuck needs to have another GB for the replica Feed type II rear wing. The original one is way to expensive.
