G2E FD Front Speaker Brackets Development Thread

Ok gents (and ladies if applicable by birth or surgery). I felt the other thread was becoming a bit crowded. Let me begin by stating:

THERE ARE NO PRICES OR ORDERING IN THIS THREAD!

What this thread will be for is to receive feedback from actual owners on test fitment of the product. There is a very good chance I'm going to over-engineer these and as with all products, most likely multiple someones will feel it should have been done differently.

My intention is to deliver:
1) A superior product
2) All mounting hardware
3) Instructions
4) Allowance for greatest variable in speaker selection.

To this end, I'd like to offer the following members (along with my locals of course) the opportunity to test fit and provide feedback on brackets.

So:
Mr Nizzles, Kalinakona, Bob H, and Tim Benton would you be willing to help with feedback if I ship you test product? I'm a big boy...you can hurt my feelings with your feedback. =)

1) Material Selection:
The Ebay version of these are made out of ABS I believe. My local guy felt that this was a decent choice. Would anyone else like to suggest an alternate construction material and a reason why?

2) Thickness of Construction:
My personal opinion is that the Ebay brackets are solid. I had no problems mounting my Infinity Reference Series Low Profile 6.5s. Bob H in particular mentioned that he had to do some trimming down for his speakers if I read correctly. At the moment I'm guess the brackets are 1/4" thick at the most (Bob and Mark chime in). What if we halved that (if ABS or other material is available in a smaller thickness). Any concerns about durability?

Other thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
