Is Ebay headlights conversion any good??? I don't know I'm asking
No, seriously nobody can tell me or wants to give me a straight answer. So I figure I place a new thread and welcome any feedback. I have currently ordered these lights from frpbodykits ($180 + shipping won in auction) and they look exactly what im looking for but everybody keeps giving me this poker face reaction and arms shrugging like "owww boy, I hope I'm not around when you get this in the mail". I believe that just because they are purchased at a reasonable price doesn't mean their quality will be horrible. Does it???

They look quality from the pictures. In the end I think you will get what you pay for. Straight answer, I would not put anything made in China on my car, which is where much of ebay stuff comes from. There is a reason why the japanese kits cost so much. I would predict that these lights would not age well and you car would be worth more without them.

OEM or quality aftermarket in both parts selection & installation.
This is what will separate your car from others throughout the years.

Odds are they won't fit anything like those in the pictures posted. Those are probably the *only* pictures out there showing that they fit well for a reason.... b/c only one set of them fit well
Plus they're ugly IMO and don't improve on the lighting much if at all from what I've seen.

the lights on the pictures do exactly look like the c-west kit. So the question is will they fit like the c west ones or not. As I own the c west I can tell you they don't fit as well as the price might imply (had to slightly cut my original c west DRFT front bumper for fitment)...
and for the "good" japanese aftermarket lights/lenses, these are worth **** as they just don't fulfill their function properly. This applies to the c west as well as to the re-a ones. except the new HID kit from re-a, these are quite an improvement.
I would give it a try for 180bucks...

Considering $180 was the selling price and the factory had to make money, seller has to make money I wonder if they cost more than $75 to manufacture? Probably more like $40. What would that get you? Quality costs money.
Just my conservative opinion, save your money for something else. How about a nice shiny OEM fuel filter or pulsation damper? One of those puppies would really add to your car.

[QUOTE=adamrs80;10452909]If the above is true, hearing that some of the japanese lights are not very good would not make me more comfortable trying a knock-off of the questionable Jap lights.
it depends on if you prefer design or functionality...the japanese put more emphasis on the design and if you look for something different from the original design you would go for c west RE-A etc..but they cost an unbelieveble amount of money compared to what you get.
So people try to get something different at a decent price and this is where the e-bay stuff comes in. This stuff is like gambling sometimes you win usually you loose...
and to be honest the original lights are not very good as well

Well honestly I would say I'm buying them cause I pretty much blew all my money I could on engine component and setup. I really hate my headlights being up cause of all the pipping running underneath and even if these are a temporary fix it shouldn't b that bad(I hope). I was in the used car business so I know some pretty good bodymen that can correct any small imperfections.
I go all out in my engine bay as far as the outside goes, it can be from china all day as long as it looks good and has functionality. As far as carbon fiber aging badly, I can always sand down and paint jet black. If the lenses get ugly throw them away, I see many without them anyway. All in all I'm considering this a temporary solution that looks good that eventually I'll toss when I get bored. And in the famous words of the late Lightning McQueen "Don't need headlights, cause the track is always lit" ;> Thanks for all the feedback and would appreciate more.

I've seen enough carbon fiber pics to know that this is real carbon fiber. Notice how some of the weave isn't perfectly straight? Now this doesn't mean you will get REAL carbon fiber when you order them as the above kit could be stolen from some place else. Keep us posted with pics when you get them.

I will definitely keep all of you informed, that is exactly why I joined. There are so many people out there just trying to make a quick buck its just sickening. So you best believe I'll take plenty of pics and post them and let you all know exactly how the installation process went.
