Which front speakers for 93'?
Hi,
Does anyone know what front speakers are compatiable with the 93' stock Bose systems. I am missing the front speakers and need to find a Bose or compatiable substitute. There are 4 wires going to these speakers which I don't think is typical these days. Appreciate any hep.

The Bose system had amplifiers built into the speaker enclosure and used very low impedance speakers -- 1 ohm, I believe. Replacing the existing Bose speakers and reusing the amps would result in quieter sound levels, due to the higher impedance of the typical speaker. Not to mention Bose's typical built-in EQ.
In other words, either replace the Bose speakers with OEM parts or ditch the whole amp/speaker combination. The Bose headunit does NOT have amplification built-in.

I took the original Bose enclosures and put aftermarket speakers (Polk Audio) into them. They had to be somewhat custom mounted because there are NO aftermarket speakers that fit the Bose enclosures.

Diamond Audio 5&1/4" should fit fine. The depth is just shallow enough but i'm not shure if you need to trim for the width. I currently have 4" MB Quarts and had planned on replacing them with Hex's w/silk tweets but have never been able to complete the project. I also have some 4x6 plates for rear fill and a 5-channel JL-Audo amp replacing my XTant 4-channel (running tri-mode). It will be pretty tight when it's all done.
