Focal Subs

I've been running around the last week or so checking out some different car audio shops in my area trying to get some price quotes on putting a sub in my FD. I had an idea of what I wanted. A single 12" mounted in a sealed box dropped in the spare tire location, with black vinyl work done to match the vinyl work in the hatch area. My first choice for a sub was a Diamond MacDaddy 12.4. I found a shop in San Carlos (SF Bay Area) which does excellent custom installs (they were working on this awesome hummer when I stopped by). I was hooked as soon as I saw some of the install work they've done. The only issue I have is I've never heard any of the subs they carry. They stock Focal and ARC only. Now I've HEARD OF these brands (especially focal...everytime I say the word a beam of light shoots from the heavens and angelic voices ring out ). I looked up focals website (or a dealer. I can't remember) and found they have about 5 different models of subs ranging from about $250 to $700.

Okay.. finally my question.

What's the difference? Does focal make a low quality speaker? Is there any major differences between the $250 model and the $700 model? I've heard the Diamond MacDaddy 12 and loved it. Will I be even more ecstatic with the Focal subs?

Any and All info will be GREATLY Appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

BigRed
