fibre glass Scoot Style Hood where to buy?
fibre glass Scoot Style Hood where to buy?
hi, just wondering where i can get a scoot style hood made out of fibreglass instead of cf like the seibon one. i did a search before, would be nice if you gave me some links.
Well you could always buy one from scoot ($$
). I haven't seen any replicas that are FB in a while, I think rotary extreme used to make one... IMO you should go with a reputable company that you know makes a quality product. i.e. seibon or ViS and just paint the hood.
That's what I did. I never wanted a CF hood but I went after fitment and quality build first and foremost. What I ended up with a was a seibon scoot style that I had painted. You would never know that it was CF under there and it fits great. No regrets what so ever

Here's a place that sells one. I have no idea about the quality, though. I found the link to their site somewhere on here.

^^ wow that front scoop looks to be functional, very rare these days.
Edit- very good prices on that site... It would be interesting to know the quality of their products.

I looked into this a while back and vis told me they would only make them in CF. so you will need to go to a no name company with unknown fitment quality. this will result in a reduction in value of your vehicle as it will cheapen appearance. I also think adding hood pins and body kits to an FD looks like crap and takes away from the value of the car.... Just my opinion !

hi, i agree with you guys. the fact i want fiberglass instead of cf is because cf hoods are forbidden here. i'd prefer cf too
...
and i dont really like bodykits on rx7's too. but this hood is nice imo. well its matter of taste.
thx for the link !

Plus, if you plan on color matching to the car, it really doesn't matter if it's made of fiberglass, carbon fiber, or elephant dung... no one has to know after it's painted.
