Fiberglass vs. Polyurethane Bumpers
First of all who has which.
Secondly, I figured I'd throw this one out there for whoever's interested in chiming in.
I'm about to get a new front bumper for my FD and up until yesterday I thought I'd be relegated to a PU unit because of rock chips, paint spiders, etc. that come with the FG territory.
Now I'm not so sure. My father-in-law who is in halfsies on the car with me just ran into a Subaru rear bumper in his driveway yesterday. The PU bumper had no damage (they had to snap it back into place), but the paint was shot.
I figure since there are only two PU options for the FD and since painted PU may scrape off just as easily in such a "mishap", why not get the FG? I can get the clear bra for chips and just not run into anything. If I do, I'll have to get it repainted either way.
Anyone want to attempt to correct my already skewed logic on this one.

Thanks man. I appreciate the input. Anyone else? I've heard both sides, but I want to know how bad the paint chipping really is on the FG bumpers.

I usually recommend PU if it is your daily driver, but if it isn't then go with the FG bumper that you like the best.
True, FG IS easy to fix, but keep in mind if someone backs into you, the entire PU bumper will be able to be pushed back out. The FG bumper may be toast. There is also the problem of bottoming out. If you hit the bottom of that FG bumper, it may be pushed up enough to crack it at almost everypoint where it is bolted to the body.
There is also the question of flying rocks from stupid SUVs. A rock large enough and flying fast enough may puncture a hole in the bumper and crack it.
If it IS your daily driver and you go FG, then I would recomend that you DON'T
1) Tailgate
2) Drive fast on inclinded surfaces
3) Park too close or in a position where someone stupid could possibly back up into you.
