Thumbs up Feed carbon fiber side skirts

Anyone else think they are hot? Rotaryextreme has a group by together... ends March 31st. Nows the time to get them for a good price, we could get it even better with some more people.

Heh, I'm definitely getting some FEED skirts eventually from Chuck...it may be popular but it's subtle in design and look for the FD.

True...looks perfect with the stock bumper w/ R1 lip or the '99 lips. The design carries from front to halfway back.

On a side note/useless tidbit for those that don't know, FEED stands for "Fujita Engineering Evolutional Development" Heh, Japanese always got some long *** word abbreviations but sounds cool nonetheless!

I am really considering these now. Got all new paint, 99 front and 99 lip. If you got fiberglass - what did you paint it with to match the 99 lip. Or if you got CF does it match up well with the look of the black 99 lip? This is what I've been struggling with and why I haven't taken the leap...

No lip in this pic:

Chuck at RotaryExtreme had group buy a few months ago. The Fiberglass side skirts were gel coated glossy black. I installed them as-is using self-tapping screws in 25 minutes. Call him and see if he can get you some.

In your opinion does it match nicely with the lip? I wish someone could provide a picture holding the sideskirt next to the lip to compare texture / sheen / color.

I got the CF skirts in the last group buy and Sonix7 wrapped my R1 lip to match them in the plain weave. I will post pics of it hopefully early next week when i get my package. If you go with the FG I think the 99 lip will match in a matte black. I went with the CF cause I knew I wanted to match the lip to it. I was actually going to just wait for Phil to get the mold done on the 99 lip but I got too anxcious.

I think you can zoom this (Click Here for pic) in and see the difference with the CF and the R1 lip texture.

Thanks for that ^
I've seen the Sonic7 CF lip and it looks really nice. I'm not huge into CF though...
I suppose I could just paint my 99 lip the same color I do the sideskirts. Even if I scuff the lip somewhere it's not like it'll show through too much.

I am working on the mold for each of the lips, the 93 R1 and the the 99 spec. I just didn't really think there was much interest in these. I don't have the skirts, but have been eyeing them for a minute. I like them a lot, can you get them in CF or are they just coming FG? What about a rear diffuser to match? anyone got a pic? If you guys ever think there is something I should be making, please PM me. I just am cranking out jobs right now. I have like at least 50 parts I am working with and three molds and numerous fabrication jobs, and its all me. I am having fun as things get easier to do. I am here if you guys need me.

Sonix7,

Herblenny has a group buy for 99 spec carbon lips but it hasn't got off the ground yet, he told me to contact you if I wanted mine covered now. Here is his link, maybe you guys can pair up and get that group buy rolling.

https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-center-69/gb-carbon-fiber-99-spec-front-lip-468003/

The side skirts I already put the deposit down with rotaryextreme. But when I get them I will see if I cant send you some pictures so you can match the weave when I get my 99 spec lip covered.

It would give you the money to make me a Rear Diffuser, but I want something a little different. I doubt anyone would have one to make a mold from.... I plan to pick it up soon but they want $1200

Nice, yeah Phil and I have spoke about this. Unfortunately when things aren't of priority to some fabricators then projects don't get done as quick as everyone would like, I think this is the case with the guy Phil is working with. I on the otherhand have been given a 99 spec lip to make a mold from. I do plan on taking this project on very soon. So the sideskirts do come CF? that is nice, also that rear diffuser is super nice. I would need to have one in order to make it. Plus shipping would be astronomical for those. I bet they are making good profit on those, but I also suspect they are very labor intensive and lots of material is being utilized? Right now there is a worldwide epedimic with a shortage of CF. Everyone across the board is feeling the effects. Especially me. So yeah if people are real serious about this kind of stuff, contact me and lets see what we can do. I am willing to help out as many people as I can. I have done free stuff, I have done discounts. I am easy to work with for those of you that do not know me. I do the best I can with the best available to me. That is kind of my motto. I will keep posted on the evolution of these parts and see what I can do in the near future.
