Sleepy eye isn't so bad, this is the veilside light kit on my FD. Kind of makes the car look like it has down syndrome.

Personally, I build my car to suit ME, not some narrow-minded ******* on this forum. Never understood why these people always think something they don't care for is "riced out" anyway. IMO the stock headlights look bug-eyed when they're up, and the sleepy-eyes look way more stream-lined. Doesn't mean I'm gonna bash anyone for keeping theirs stock. Same goes for a V8 conversion. I wouldn't do it, but if others want to then go for it. Just think about this...if you swap a LS6 into a Ferrari, is it still a Ferrari? I say not and I bet EVERY Ferrari owner would agree with me. In any sports car, the motor is a major part of the vehicle design. Same goes with the RX7. It was designed/built as a rotary and if you change that then it's not really an RX7 anymore. Maybe a V8 is "better" ( a matter of opinion), but it totally changes what the car was meant to be. You want a V8, go buy a vette.

Hypocrite? I never slammed anyone for their choices on what they do with their own car or said anything was crap. I just stated I wouldn't do it and why. The only person I did slam was the person who said it was crap just because they wouldn't do it, like nobody should do it becasue THEY don't like it. Maybe u should learn correct usage of this word.

wow so much hate. just to clarify, are you looking to just have the stock headlights open a little or actually retrofit them so they are functional? i cant say much for the first but i personally like the latter. lower profile and better lighting is a plus in my book but every ones taste varies. i think the issue with the veilside and such is it is too in between and not low enough.

If the veilside was any lower you would have virtually no light output, it is as low as it can go while maintaining the ability to see at night. IMO, I would rather be able to see when I am driving than "look cool". Just my .02.

my fault i didnt specify. i understand that with that light it would not work any lower i just was referring to the angle overall. with the use of small hid projectors you can run a more acute angle and in my mind a more favorable look. sorry was in the hospital today and the pain meds have me a little loopy
once i get started on my build again i am planning on trying a few leftover projectors for old retrofits to see lowest i can run the covers while improving the **** poor stock lighting. i am pampered with my 4x55w retrofit in my m too bad the led strips like the prerunner trucks run dont have a cutoff because they would allow a much easier install.

Being a hypocrite means I'm telling someone not to do something and then doing it myself or vice-versa. What exactly in my statement do you consider hypocrisy? I didn't tell anyine what to do, or not to do, to their car. I only said what I wouldn't do to mine and why. Maybe YOU should read my original statement again. Euther way, I'm done with this.

So if you put a V8 in your RX7 it's no longer a RX7, but if you change the way the RX7 looks it's still a RX7? Wasn't the RX7 designed to have full pop up lights?

"Personally, I build my car to suit ME, not some narrow-minded ******* on this forum." Hmm, I wonder who posted that? They seem to have a good grasp of what "car culture" is. I agree totally and don't tell people their [insert vehicle name here] is no longer a [same name] because they did [whatever they seem to be proud of] to it. That would make me an narrow-minded ******* and a hypocrite, wouldn't it?

To answer your question, No it wouldn't. If you asked me if you should put an LS6 in your car and I said no, gave you 50 reasons why not, then did it to my car, THAT would make me a hypocrite. As it is, even if you disagree with me, I WAS STATING MY OPINION AND THE REASON WHY I HAVE THAT OPINION. If you disagree with my statements that's fine, but it does not make me a hypocrite any more than it makes you an *******.

In regards to your other statement, you're comparing apples to oranges. How do you equate a minor aesthetic modification, such as swapping headlights, to swapping the engine/tranmsission? You're saying changing the headlights has as much or an impact on the overall characteristics of the car as changing the engine/transmission. No ******* way! Using that kind of logic the only way to keep your (whatever car you have) as (whatever car you have) would be to leave it completely stock and not change one single thing about it.

Back to my comparison...if you swap a LS6 into a Ferrrari is it still a Ferrari? Hell no it's not and anybody in the Ferrari realm would make no bones about telling you so. But if you swap to custom headlights they would definitely still consider it a Ferrari because changing the headlights is only an appearance thing. Changing the headlights does not change any of the major characteristics of the car, while changing the engine/transmission would change everything about the car.

Now I really am done with this. We've jacked this poor guys thread enough. I hope he got what he was after from it.

No problems. Superdan is doing a great job with his sleek kit and wanted to add a popup to his offerings so he's taking my design and going to improve it.
