FD stereo removal
Hey guys,
I was successful in pulling out the stock tape deck/radio but before installing my Sony deck, I have a few questions...
1) Antenna - My Sony deck has a female antenna input but the two cables on the FD are also female - did I miss somethine or do I need to go to Radio Shack to get an adapter? I read that I have to use the bigger of the two, right? And please don't tell me I need a relay because the power antenna goes up even though the unit is off...
2) The wiring harness - Besides the two "main" harnesses, there's a "mini." Is this a ground? I noticed that the FD harness has no ground wire in it. Does this hook up to the "mini" via spade connector?
I've probably answered my own questions regarding this but would like to hear from people who've been there.
Thanks,
D

1) The rex has two antennas. On is in the rear window. I don't know wich on to take for FM. But I propose to get an adapter.

2) Yes, the black one is ground. Don't miss to connect it with the radios ground. If not, it will get damadged sooner or later.
See some pix here (German, sorry):

Alright - I managed to ground the unit and get an antenna adapter however I'm only getting two radio stations....one mexican station and the other is a classic rock station. Is this related to just using the larger of the two antennas?

Wish I took German in high school instead of Spanish!
Vielen Dank, Tobias!
Gern geschehen, Unixpilot.
Friends,
what topics of my website are you most interested in?
When I find some time, I will try to translate them first.
Are some RX-7 toy collectors among you?
Nothing RX-7 related, but I want to say:
Sorry for the very very bad and disgraceful foreign affairs of our politicans.
It's not the opinion of the main part of the country. In the last local elections Mr. Schröder got the result of his 100-day-joke and his party got the worst result ever.
The Germans are your friends and will stay.
