FD pocket door.

Does anyone have a storage bin door for the drivers door? I would like to find one I can attempt a modification experiment.

What are you trying to do? I know of several of my friends with broken door hinges....
For some reason it seems to be a common occurance, sorta like the passenger side handle.

I am not quite sure of the final direction yet. But I plan to install the Boost Controller in that pocket if I can find a good way to snake the hose.

My initial thought was that I would carve out a "window" in the door so that I can have access to the controller without having the door open.

But I dont want to screw up the panel I have and not have a replacement if the experiment goes bad.

Hmmm...getting the wiring into the door iteself is going to be a bitch because of the way the FD wiring harness is run. There is a clip that is located on the body that you cannot run extra wires around. In order to get more wires into the door panel, you will have to remove the door and drill a new hole. This is what I had to do to run speaker wire for my stereo. It is kind of hard to explain, but if you pull back the rubber hose protecting the wires, you will see what I mean. Regardless, I think modifying the pocket is a secondary problem to getting the wiring in the door! If you do do that though, let us know how it turns out; I'd be very curious to see!

From your experience, is the vacuum hose too large to be run through the door without crimping? Or is it a hard thin hose like the vacuum gauge uses? (I have not recieved the unit yet, so I have no idea.)

Oh, yeah. I didn't think about that: you would need to run a vacuum hose into the door as well as power wires and junk. I don't have a turbo controller, so I can't really answer your question regarding the hoses, but there is no way you will be able to fit a vacuum hose through the stock harness router without putting new holes in the door and the body to run the additional stuff. I just ran my speaker wire. After I eat, I'll go out and take a picture so you can see what I mean.

I did a quick search on that 7 eleven guy, but he doesn't seem to have posted any pics. You might want to PM Chaste94 (his wife I think ) who might have some pics of that...

Thanks for the link. I still want to give it a try. I think the idea of putting it in plain sight would be too tempting for theives and joyriders.

I'll let everyone know if I can make it work.
