Interior / Exterior / Audio Talk about interior and exterior mods including audio.

FD: OEM Bose Option... Stereo from a 05 Miata. Probably better than a Spirit R radio.

You need to add and move a few pins around, depending on the clips/pigtails you get to do the job. Also, you MIGHT run into a clearance problem with the mounting hardware bumping into the harness. I cut away at the support a bit and everything fit fine. You also need to adapt an antenna plug, as the 93-95 style clip doesn't work with the newer, more standard plug.

Keep an eye out. It took me about 2 months to find a good one on ebay but I got one for less than $100. And mine is a BOSE 6 cd changer.

^ Nice! Let us know how that holds up. I had read that the 6-CD changer mechanism couldn't take the stiffer suspension on the FD, but that may have changed. It's not like everyone's gone out and does this swap.

It has held up fine for the last almost 1.5 years. I love the changer since I haven't done the MP3 mod to it. But 6 cds is enough to have all of the music I listen to most often. The space was tight with the harness and antenna adapters but it is in there and no one can tell I did a swap.

No need to worry about the color of the backlight just buy the little "condoms" in amber and you will match the backlight on the stock gauges. It is an easy swap.

That looks very nice and clean in your FD. Looks very 90s too. Too bad there aren't any nice aftermarket cd players that match the retro look of the FC

Getting ready to do this swap, I'm waiting on my ebay radio (2002 miata bose unit) I will be starting the hunt for the adapter harnesses now!
